Number ‘5' license plate sold for $6.75M in UAE
‘Yeah its…this is like a…Yeah.’ Those are the words Talal, owner of the most expensive license plate in the world. The oil-rich nation, United Arab Emirates, holds the world record for the six most expensive plates where, Talal, owner of the number ‘5' cashed out $6.75 million.

Basically the lower the number your car has, the more status you have. Drivers are battling it out at auctions for a chance to show off with their lowest digit license plate.

Its already gone, and the owner wont even sell it.

The money was giving to charity, so its not really a waste.

Over here, only important/rich people get small digits.

Its all about status there. Like in India a man is willing to have a pay cut for a better title. Too many Chiefs not enough Indians syndrome.

LMAO... I guess this guy was just pissed that some one in the UK paid more for his F1 license plate than this guy did on his previous plate.

This reminds me of a quote regarding these oil rich countries:

"a hundred years ago you were living in tents out here in the desert chopping each other's heads off and that's where you'll be in another hundred years"

"that's where you'll be in another hundred years"

why? What makes u think like that.

btw i saw that auction when this number was bought by this person 'Talal' first time (from the government) for 5 million dirhams that's 1.6 Million USD.

and wow he again sold it for 6.75M USD. That's huge profit.

btw as i said earlier, paying these much monies for number plates here in Middle East is very common.

Hmmm...ever wonder why America has the BEST healthcare in the world? Oh, wait, do you get it now? Ok, why don't you cross the pond if you dont like it. Oh you can push socialism on our nation until everything sucks, and nobody has any motivation for progress. Do you know anything about how our country works? Apparently not.

I think it is about a love of cars and such, let's not make it political. Everyone on the site loves cars, let's keep it about that. Religon is a separate form. I am happy to be in America where I can type this and communicate with all of you.
