i don't know much about jaguar so is this there flagship sedan? And i'm guessing it would compete with the gs 5 series e class?

No, This is their Executive Class vehicle offering, the XJ-Series is their upper entry.

I saw the Jag XF at the LA auto show, and I have to say the exterior and interior are both gorgeous. I don't think it's a copy of the Lexus GS at ALL. Ian Callum, the designer, has styled it on the Jagaur XK, which is a beautiful car.
Looking forward to seeing it on the roads here - I think it sets the new standard in the executive car segment.

You Dumb "JoshLexus4ever", the designing of jaguar XF was developed several years before even the Lexus GS was released. It takes 4 to 5 years to develop a car, so there is absolutely no way that Jaguar XF is a copy version of the GS. And besides, what are you even comparing, the fat rounded and simply generic looks of the GS is utterly distasteful in comparison to the curved, sculpted, and sleek Jaguar XF. I think to put in one word, the XF is: Sleek, while the Lexus just isn't, because it's a fat car.

It's a very nice car. I like it better than the GS and the E Class. The 5 Series is nicer though.

5 series nicer? Are you seriouis? I like the way the 5 series drives and the V8 and sixes are good engines but the interior of the 5 is nowhere near as nice as the XF. And before you ask I have already sat in the XF's interior.

Saw the XF tonight... fell in love. Went back to see the M5... boring in comparison.

I attended the Jaguar XF Introduction gathering here in Las Vegas 08 Feb 08 (I'm a long time Jaguar owner/driver), and it was Simply Stunning In Every Conceivable Way!

Aesthetically, both inside and out, it's unlike any mid-sized/executive vehicle yet produced, and truly represents what a luxury/executive vehicle can/should be in the 21st century.

It's amazing. Excellent handling, beautiful interior, great space (trunk is huge!), sexy style, comfortable ride (so I've read), and even a great value, with the 420hp supercharged version coming in at $60K.

Thats what I'm talking about. Absoulutely gorgeous car. It might just be good enough to help Jagua's turnaround.

It's a great looking car. To me it's the best of the class both in interior and exterior.

I'll definately check it out when it comes here in UAE.

absolute stunner

Love it!! This car beats all the competition in every category! Hopefully Tata can continue with the design and quality Ford gave them with the XF.

If this cars sells a thousand cars a month I will be shocked. At both the San Francisco and San Jose Auto Shows the XF drew very little attention. So far I have the car 4 times and all this same blah goldish/tan. I hope this car looks better in dark colors. The dash reminds me of Lincolns and the back seat is not great and this thing is terribly overweight.

I'm not a fan of the design but the interior design is very British, very modern. Clean, sleek and decent quality too (saw it at Chicago). I still think the Audi A6 has the best interior in this class followed by the Lexus GS and Mercedes E class.

Great looking, but Jag again behind the eight ball with bad timing, the ecomony is going to have a lot to say on the sales of these and other luxury brands in 08'.

If you are in the Chicago area, Elmhurst Jaguar is having a special XF event at their dealership with a DJ, sushi and martini bar. The event is Tuesday night starting around 5pm, I believe. That is where I bought my BMW in Elmhurst and I was invited to the Jaguar, very nice of them to do that. I bet this car will be a hit. I hope it is too because then the company will be around when my BMW lease is up and I get into an XKR convertible.
BE THERE TUESDAY NIGHT IN ELMHURST!

Just tongue and cheek ( no offense really) because i live in a climate that avg 74 year round how are people going to this event by snowmobile or huskie pulled sleds? I know Chicago and the midwest is geting nailed again not rubbing it in just couldn't resit, i was born there and it is the main reason i left just can't handle winter?

I was invited last night at the auto show... I may just come!

"how are people going to this event by snowmobile or huskie pulled sleds?"

It's freezing cold, but there hasn't been snow since last week.

"just can't handle winter?"

No, you obviously can't.

I saw it in the Dubai auto show, and I think it looks much better in real. But I still dont like the interior in terms of style. It looks old for some reason.
