Honda working on V6 diesel for Pilot, Ridgeline and MDX

Honda has just released the first image of its new 2009 Acura TSX that it will be the first to get Honda’s new 2.2 liter i-DTEC diesel engine in North America. The Acura RDX and the Honda Accord will be next in line to use that very engine, but Honda engineers are also working on a V6 version of the super-clean diesel for the U.S. market.

The second largest Japanese auto maker is developing a 3.5 liter V6 diesel engine that will be 30 percent more fuel efficient than its gasoline counterparts.

Yawn...Where was the V8 they were developing and using in the Formula 1 that was going in the next MDX, Pilot, RL. Oops wait, they must have gotten neutered like the design staff did at Acura/Honda when creating this next gen of cars.

Doesn't it take twice the gas to produce the equivalant hydrogen? That couldn't be good for the enviroment. I would rather see a HCCI gas engine instead of diesel. For all of you that don't know HCCI is as efficient as a diesel motor with high compression that helps with the equivelant torque of a diesel too.
When they figure out how to produce hydrogen cleaner I will be happy! There are some people that claim to run there cars with water by extract hydrogen from water in the car. Any sane person would hope we could power our cars with water (hydrogen).
