Lexus LF-A roadster could see production

$200k would not be an M6 competitor, that's twice what an M6 costs. That'd better be a hell of a car if Lexus wants people to seriously be asking themselves "should I get the Aston, the Ferrari, the Lamborghini, or the Lexus?"

$200K NO way will it be a volume car... People in that price range are buying more then looks... The "brand image" is paramount, and Lexus is still seen as Toyota..albeit the best Toyota can do

And in the home market.. GTR, and NSX will be half the price and equal the performance...

Smart for Honda to be delaying the NSX... tweaking it.. They do not need another RL (aka "Replaced Legend") total styling and market position "DUD"

well lexus doesn't have quattro, which are some of the best AWD systems in the market.

I just got back from Lexus IS-F training at Las Vegas Speedway and they confirmed that the LF-A is coming, pricing expected close or a little over 200k. They want it out before 2010.
Might sound steep in price but after driving what $62k buys you in the IS-F. (3 days on a road course) All I can say is the IS-F is well worth it. It by far exceeded my expectations based on Lexus past. It is that F-in good!!

I am humoured by all the comments bashing the IS-F by people on this website that have never driven it !!! Drive it or ride in it and you will be very impressed!! If you still hate it after that then hey thats what America is great for , freedom of your own opinion.

For a $200k sports car , the LF-A will be another car that exceeds everyones expectations once they drive it. If anyone actually gets a chance to due to limited availability. It will be a very limited production "Halo" super car.

I think some of the lexus haters have to admit that the IS-F has delivered when it comes to sports saloons. It has got good reviews by magazines like Evo etc. I don't know why people are biased against Lexus. Don't we all want great cars regardless of the badge? Given the research that is going into the LF-A and the Japanese resurgence in sports cars, I am confident LF-A will also provide the sporting performance whilst providing luxury thereby pitching it against Aston Martin.

i would take the Nissan GTR for 80k if i was going for Japanese performance.
the lexus will be an amazing ride im sure being that the is-f has gotten so much praise so far but for 200k i dont think so.

in that range i think most NORMAL people would get the gallardo, f430, sl65, bentley GTC, db9, 911 turbo and so on..... this car will most likely have the same sales fate as the nsx.

oh yea, i dont think this car looks better than the audi r8 either.....

200k...well I'm guessing in £ (not directly converted but seeing from the cars you list) is about 150k pounds...
That is way too expensive. Aston DB9s don't even cost that much, neither do F430s or Continental GTs!

$200K ya it'll sell, if they stop building them at ten. Good Lord, what are they thinking, I not one to place much value in heritage but at 200K every car there has it. I think they will sell a few as novelties but at that price point look for $50,000.00 rebates.

I would DEFINITELY take an F430 over it at this price. This won't happen. It just wouldn't be conceivable.

That's my PERSONAL choice. I don't care if YOU don't like it, I love the R8. I don't care how fast or how luxurious the LF-A will be--it just won't do the same things for me as an R8. The R8 is hugely capable, beautiful, striking, artful, comfortable, spacious, lithe, agile, practical, luxurious, stunning, and last but not least, fast. All for half the price of a Lexus LF-A, as you said. So what's not to like?

A couple years ago, Toyota execs claimed they were going to announce the production of the LF-A after their first F1 win. Don't hold your breath!
