640HP VW Golf

If like us you were disappointed by VW’s decision not to shoehorn its potent 3.6L V6 into the Golf then cheer up because Germany’s HGP has gone ahead and done it. However, not content with the 300hp output of the naturally aspirated mill, the tuner has added a pair of turbochargers and boosted power to a supercar-rivaling 640hp (477kW). That’s as much power as VW’s own Golf GTI W12 650 concept car, which relied on a 6.0L W12 engine for its numbers.

Testing of HDA’s previous Bi-Turbo Golf R36, which only had 600hp, saw the car reach a top speed of 202mph (327km/h) and accelerate to 174mph (280km/h) in an amazing 23.5 seconds at Nardo’s high speed test track last year.

For some reason all these aftermarket big time companies that do this kinda work to cars do not interest me. How about making parts that the average everyday person who knows cars and can install himself. That would be beneficial.

Aside from that, VW is also lame in itself for not bringing the new Corrado here. What a slap in the face. Alls you hear about is how we want the cars being produced in Europe, such as the Ford lineup over there. Finally we got the STi and Evo, and those sell really well. So why not continue the trend. Oh right, cause VW prices itself out of the market and the Corrado which was once a speedster for a good price will probably end up being some kind of $50k thing that puts it out of its original market.
