GM’s Mini fighter may be a Saab, Saturn or both

GM supposedly left drawings of what could be a Mini Cooper fighter in its design studio room where journalists got to preview the work being done on the upcoming production Chevrolet Volt. According to the MotorTrend guys, who have sketches displayed on their site, the drawings showed ’a two-box, three-door hatchback design with a conventional, vertical B-pillar.’

Shouldn't GM focus on improving their current line of vehicles instead of trying to get into new markets? They are on dire straits as it is right now. Why dig themselves deeper in the hole by getting into unknown territory?

GM and sales are not a problem, GM and profits are its current line of cars is doing very well especially the new models. creating new models in new markets will help the profit portion , regardless of how much Gm is losing they have several models that are selling very well, but creating new models and improvements costs alot of money, hence the large loss, and the huge improvements in styling etc, and sales

Couldn't have said it better. GM is selling well.
GM's problem is their expenses are just too high. They need to get smaller. And the unions are not helping at all.
