I consider X3 most coffin-like.

I never liked this car. The styling is trendy, not timeless like the original FX. Plus isnt particularly good at any one thing but umbles it all together.

It isnt a capable SUV
Its not a good Sedan
Its not a sports car
Its not even a wagon

And though many here love the car, I for one do not.

None of todays crossovers are capable "SUVs"

In the US the consumer likes to call them 'hatchbacks' or '5-doors'

Based on the fact that many journeys are made with just one occupant or with children in the back who cares. Why dont kids or ghosts write reviews. They probably find this space enough. Unless of course they are suffering from an excess of McDonalds, et al.

I suppose coffin-like is not a good thing.

The little SUV looks like a ladies handbag and the GT-R looks like a mans handbag.

Well, when my car (2008 CTS) was referred to as a Coffin, it was because it was 'coffin quiet.' So, reading the headline, I thought that the EX was very quiet too...guess not haha.

You're right w209...it's not suppose to be any of those things, so what is your point? It's a "crossover SUV" that has only had very positive reviews so far.

I also find it interesting that the same guy that reviewed the G sedan, which this is pretty much what it is in "wagon" form, gave the G such a positive review. "Hard to resist" was the overall phrase. This vehicle is a baby FX...which is a good thing!

Y'all have allot to learn. The EX is based on the G35 which is what the 350Z was based on. As for Quality, Infiniti and Nissan quality have improved substantially over the last year even. JDPower ranked the company as most improved for 2007. I can say for one, the G35 I have has 42k miles on it and does not have one rattle or squeak. I also can't find any reason to bring it in for service. Just so you know, i am the kind of person that would bring it in for any little thing wrong. I used to have a Toyota Tundra and I was bringing that thing in for every squeak rattle and roll. As for being a rebadged Nissan, it is not. If anything the the 350Z is a rebadged Infiniti. That said, there is not a whole lot of rebadging going on here. The G35, EX35, 350Z, M35/45 FX35/45 are all completely separate designs built on the same platform.

And what do you suppose Lexus does? Doesn't it rebadge Toyotas too? As for quality, I've owned 7 Nissan/Infiniti vehicles over the last 18 years, and I have never had any quality problems with any of them, besides the regular maintenance and wear parts. In fact, I currently own an 07 G35 with 18,000 miles on it, and it still runs like the day I drove it off the lot.

Starting with FX, then came Nissan Qashqai and now EX35. BMW folllowed them with X6.

anyway it looks very stylish, very trendy. What it loose in space...etc it more than makes up for it in style and uniquness.

i agree with you completely. That said, i think even before the FX, the Murano came out. As far as I know that was the very first "Crossover" vehicle on sale in the US.

I am a HUGE fan of the FX35. Something I mentioned which you chose to look past. To me its the first every true sport SUV from the platform its based on with an athletic stance and big agressive wheels, it looks as good today as it did back in 2003.

+1 to Jugnu, the FX was the first of its kind, the X6 is BMW's response, FIVE YEARS LATER.

I don't believe agent 001. This USA Today article must be total garbage, because all the other reveiews that i have seen so far the car has been garnished with praises: Autospies commended the car for looking better than X3 and having a very tight and seamless drive, Insideline said the car drove like a G35 sidan but only has a modified body design, and numerous others. By looks alone this car easily trumps anything in the segment: the X3 is no match and the new GLK design looks all out of sorts and the car looks plain ugly. The quality of material is really topnotch and as far as i have known, until this article has popped up, the ride is very tight and solid (certainly not jiggly) and there is not body roll(by edmudns). I think i'll take the assessment of 5 or 6 magazines over the one by USA today. Really Pro Euro bloggers have recently started to bombard the Acura brand and have been saying that the brand is lost and all, while in the market the company seems to do just well and now they are doing their monkey talk on infiniti, really such big lies you guys can say to demean a japaneese brand, hoping that spreading a bad words and a bad name can decrease the sale of japanese brands. This are really cheap talks. Let the cars compete in quality, design, and ride and let customers decide which cars are better. Don't spread lies in order to denigrate a company that you don't like.

Exactly Dugit....people need to understand what type of vehicle they are reviewing to give it a credible review. Obviously, this guy thinks that it's suppose to be an SUV with SUV dimensions.

While I've never driven the EX35, I can't help but disagree with USAToday. Yes, the legroom in back wasn't much, but I'm sure a person who needed legroom in the back wouldn't buy the EX anyway. And I thought the headroom was comfortable, although I am 5'9", not some 7' giant I swear these magazines hire to review cars. I was all around impressed with the EX.

I agree. I am the same height and again, I agree. Its a nice vehicle. If your going to have 6'2+ people sitting the the rear, you would not be shopping in this vehicles category.

the only thing that bothers me than this car is people who think CAPS yelling.

i just see this car as a womans/daddys little girl/babys moms car, its boring.

The commercial is sexy though..LOL I like the way the steering column slowly slides up to her..WINK WINK...truthfully The FX is one hell of a vehicle, just thought maybe it would have alittle more dna from it ...I still like it and would consider it...but maybe after the first years run.

Nice looking car.

I went to the Chicago Auto Show today and sat in the EX. Its much too small to be useful and to expensive to be practical. Its cute but when you see it in person you become aware of how small it really is. The interior is nice and fit and finish are nice but I really don't think its as big as my Honda Civic Coupe. At that price point it really becomes to small to be worthwhile.

The only infinit model that doesnt look outdated in 1 year is the G Coupe. Infiniti can not be mentioned in the same breathe as Lexus. Sad but true.

LOL, someone said the FX was first of its kind, than what makes the '98 RX 300? They even copied the "X" from RX, all of them used the "X" from RX.

Last Saturday I went to my Infiniti dealer to have my G35 serviced (oil change). While waiting for it, I decided to test drive the new EX, and I have to say this it is a pretty good crossover. It handles very well and it is fast. It feels a little crowded inside, but not in a bad way. It kind of hugs you instead of giving you a claustrophobia episode. For the people who think it is too small or uncomfortable inside, perhaps you're looking at the wrong category. You need to shop for a full size SUV (Expedition, Tahoe, Armada), not a crossover. Crossovers are not supposed to be cargo haulers.
