GENEVA 2008: Volvo XC60 SUV
Wagons and crossovers accounted for almost half of Volvo’s sales in the U.S. last year, so it comes as little surprise the carmaker will be adding even more of these models to its lineup in the near future. The first of these will be the XC60 crossover, which will be making its world debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. However, we can get an early look at the car thanks to these leaked images.

As predicted the production car’s styling remains true to the concept version (pictured below) unveiled at last year’s Detroit Auto Show. The new XC60 drops the boxy styling of past Volvos, and instead adopts a much smoother look with same S-shaped LED taillights, swooping headlights and sleek profile as seen on the concept.

Nice. There is no way Ford has any influence in Volvo design and engineering. Can't they secede from Ford like the South did to start the Civil War.

Okay, I just have one question, is that black and white interior real or a concept. If it's real, that center console is insane and beautiful.

Volvo actually has an interior that has caught my attention. I like this alot.

I don't think the B&W interior is the real thing - there is a picture of a brown and cream interior with some wood - still looks good though.

Subaru Forester XT, Mazda CX-7, Rav4 V6 and the Saturn Vue Redline are all potent compact SUVs (Forester is basically a wagon). The Forester accelerates 0-60 in under 6 sec (2004-05 tested at 5.3, 2006-08 tested at 5.9), the others do it in under 7 sec.

The show car was awesome. They screwed it up and now its kinda bland looking.Damn, i was thinking of buying one.I'll see it in NYC in march, maybe it'll look better in person. But my hopes of volvo not messing this up, has happened. Not really surprised.

I think it looks great. Pricing is going to be the big factor imo. The other small lux utes are all coming in at around 40K well equipt. I think if this thing stuck closer to 35K it will be a huge huge success.

Anyone else notice the similar looks to the Mazda CX-7 and CX-9? I wonder if this is realted to those vehicles. I believe the V50 is loosly related to the Mazda 3, so it would be no surprise if they were built on the same platform.

I have been waiting for the Audi Q5. Every time I looked at a Volvo, I ended up buying BMW, Merc or Audi. I think the XC60 might have a chance this time, especially considering that the Volvo will leave more $$$ in my pocket for other gadgets
