If I've said once I've said 12 times that Lexus rip off ideas from Jaguar and Aston Martin.

Com'on, look at old and new Jags & Astons and you will see heritage.

I agree with you. When I first saw the XF, it reminded me right away of (1) Japaneses styling and (2) Lexus GS. I think this was done for the American geriatric buyes as both Lexus and Jaguar appeal to the Nursing Home set. I mean I see more Lexi and Jags with Handicapped Parking Stickers than any other car. No insult intended to eldery or handicapped people. Just a preference of senior citizens to drive a Lexus that reminds them of their Buicks of yesteryear.

goobama08 stop being biased it is not like lexus has never copied any designs in the past. Even though i like lexus I have to admit that. As long as it is just the side profile I'm fine with it but when they copy the whole car like the chinese then it is a totally different story. Personally i hate the headlights on this car but a otherwise looks nice. Good job jaguar.

That's ironic GoObama,

Your candidate also, "Looked hot a month ago, but now i'm bored of it (him) already" especially those stupid 'pulpit inspired' - 'pep rally' speeches with no substance!

Oh Yea, He also 'literally' copied many of Hillary's platform ideas...

The Jaguar XF has a timeless, lasting quality that your candidate can never achieve!

So - GET A LIFE and Go Attend Another Obama PEP RALLY - And Don't Forget Your Pom-Poms!!

I don't know what Chris of Autocar is on about. Usually i like his honest and frank observations, but this is totally ridiculous, how the hell does he claim that XF is a copy of Lexus GS. As i have said thousands of times before, the development of the design of XF started several years even before the GS debuted, so how on earth can XF design be a copy. The fact is that, both cars converge in body shape is because of use of similar designing elements and probably similar designing softwares, but the theme of each design, and the details are totally different and distinct. It is just like those incidents when two or more independent researchers discover the same thing while working completely differently and without any association. Think about how both Darwin and another of his friends reached the theory of Evolution by natural selection independently. Actually in terms of evolution, in this case of XF and GS, evolutionary convergence has taken place. But any way, the XF is thousandfold more beautiful than any car in the segment, let alone a second rate Lexus GS. And please stop giving misinformation about the headlamps, I have checked them out in the flesh and it looks absolutely awesome and quite simply very modern.

Oh Darwin's friend who came up with a similar paper for natural selection was Alfred Russell Wallace.

"99% of you have never even been in a Jag let alone OWNED one"

Care to test that hypothesis?

The XF was copied more from the XK and aston martin than from the GS. THe designer said that the rake of the roof is identical to the XK. Both the XF and the GS were trying to look like coupes, that's why they look similiar in their profile. From the front and the back they look nothing alike and the details in the sheet metal are different. There was no copying here. By the way, I have seen this car in the flesh. It look good from every angle but the front. When you look at it straight from the front, it's just OK. The concept was obviously much better in that regard. Hopefully, Jaguar designers are reading the critiques and will use the concept headlights in the next refresh.
