Aston Martin working on revised and more powerful V8 Vantage

The guys over at CAR have learned that Aston Martin is working on a revised and more powerful V8 Vantage for release this summer. CAR says their spy, who is hanging out in Sweden, has seen new V8 Vantages going under winter testing, and says that they are registered with a bigger 4733cc V8.

Ummm....the DB5 and DB6 both used 6 cylinders, as did the DB7...the V8 is the departure for Aston.

This is good news, I've always loved this car and now I might consider looking at it after my lease is done on my 6. Guy in my neighbourhood just got one & I see it everyday & I can't help but stare, the musical sound of his exhaust always gives him away.

Rupert-After the DB5 and DB6,Aston was using only V8's up until the DB7 in the early 90's. It was a 5.3 liter hand built V8 at their facxtory at Newport Pagnell.

Good point, I was just bemused by EvoAudi's point that "Aston will never use a 6 cylinder", when they have, on multiple occasions.
Even the current V12 is two Ford Mondeo V6's stuck together.

Plenty before my time too...put it this way, I'm as old as Lexus.

Aston's reputation has changed a lot, they were never supposed to be sports cars, they're fast, cruising GTs, not agressive powerhouses. That's partly why I lament the DBS and the lack of a proper 4 seater - they need one to compete with the Continental GT and 612 Scaglietti.
