Toyota Exec: FT-HS could be a vision for Toyota Supra of the future

The Lexus LF-A looks like a next generation Supra. This thing looks like a space craft.

LFA will be built only for Lexus, the Toyota will make a supra out of this FT HS, in the spirit of the old Supra, high performance, and highly customizable (though following the trend set up by GTR, it seems you won't be able to change a lot in the upcoming supra as well), and ofcourse an inexpensive price tag. I bet that the upcoming supra will be very close to the GTR (though probably slightly less) and still would price considerably lower, around 50 grand. Again this are all specualtion based on what Toyota did with the last Supra. The last one was an awesome car, at least for it's time, and with customization you could radicalize the car, though, often at the expense of handling dynamics; like for example the 1200 HP supra would not handle as well as the factory one, because of extra weight and imbalance. Anyway i like the look of the FT HS. I think this car looks awesome, very cutting edge look and very japaneese.

What about Supra vs. Exige? For starters, both have Toyota engines...take it away feedbackers...

The similarities between those cars end at the engine...

Vaporware usually is pretty impressive.

There are actually rumors that Toyota is working on the spiritual successor to the AE86! It is supposed to be light, RWD and inexpensive! That is vaporware I would like to see!!!

Cool concept. Finished product will look no where near that. Supra was a very good car and still desired today. Can't believe some of the prices dealerships have been trying to get for used Supras :-P

Nice idea. They should bring back the Supra and a new NSX but when it comes down to buying a "supercar" I trust the Europeans more.

Not to say the Japanese lack passion but it's just not what I would call supercars. The sound, the design, quality interiors, and more contribute to the image. The GT-R is a gadget-packed car that looks like it came out of an arcade and rightfully so. It appeals to the playstation generation. However the Euro's didn't have to appeal to gamers.

Only thing it lacks is the quality, luster, sound of a real supercar. As great as it performs it doesn't have the soul of a true supercar. But it is Japan's "version".

And It didn't "practically destroy all Euro supercar". .4 of a second on this video wasn't destroying. The Porsche didn't have the best tires and the driver skill was probably a factor. I hear the GT-R pretty much drives for you but the GT3 is more raw.

Either way great cars though. Their all satisfactory.
