Somewhat tru. I did own a Civic, accord, and maxima by the time I turned 22. I would never even consider a mustang. However my sister got one when she turned 17

Teen usually prefer asian cars because they are reliable. Teens have no money unless their parents spoil them. They need reliable cars, and cheap hondas/nissans are the easiet to tune for cheap without them falling apart.

that's a good point, but i could say the same about American muscle. When i was in high school i wanted an Impala SS for a number of reasons. among them was the fact that i could do minor repairs and maintenance myself.

If you are a person that knows a lot about cars, a great driver and an attentive/knowledgeable owner, then there's nothing wrong with American cars.

If you are the sort that just likes to get in, drive, and not think about your car, then you need a Japanese vehicle.

Rustangs are cheap, you can get a 90s or early 2000's one for nothing. Parts are plentiful. And kids love to throw flowmasters on them to make them loud. It's cheap power.

The downside is most of them are too stubborn to know how to drive a car and end up crashing them up all the time. Just the other day we had a little bit of rain and I was heading to work, some teen in a 90s GT had wrapped it on a pole because he made a right at the light, and decided to be cool and throttle up and spin the tires, not knowing he was RWD in the rain I guess, went sideways, never tried to correct just kept going right into the pole. Dumbass.

I had an Escort, two Saturns, a Civic, now my Matrix. Never thought of a Mustang, seemed impractical. But I do know they are the choice around here, and my kid will surely never own a Ford.

Im gonna say this is true. I have respect for them but their owners can be the cockiest ones next to BMW owners but as I was saying, this is somewhat true. in school, there are twin seniors (whos mother teaches 12th grade english) that own a red '66 gt coupe. and there are juniors that also own a black 97 mustang. and speaking of old people, the assistant teacher for my geometry teach owns one as well! they're nice cars but they are getting a bit out of hand with people like us.

A Civic would be a good car for teens.
