Acura sales are down but that is to be expected since it has a much older product line than its competitors. I think sales will increase when the new TSX and TL are released.

20% decline for the RDX is pretty tough! I don't think it was the RX that gave it trouble there MichaelTaylor...they are in different classes of size, price, engine, at least I thought so. RX is more on par with the MDX.

Yea, I was surprised myself to see the RDX leading its segment in sales...I love Acura/Honda but I must admit that the RDX is not my favorite...

The new Accord is getting killed, it looks they're giving sales to Toyota, Nissan And Chevy. The camry, altima and Malibu were all up this past month.

i'm not surprised. for all its excellent mechanicals, honda handicapped the new accord with an UGLY "me too" Kinky Hoffy roof, and even drew extra attention to it with a fat, ugly chrome piece.

I honestly think ppl are going into the showroom for the accors and walking away with the Civic becuase of the extra size of the accord. Honda is cannabolizing their own sales. Not a very smart strategic move.

I agree that they screwed up the styling of the Accord; I really wanted to like it, but couldn't like the pictures so I thought I would check it out in person, and it still didn't help.

Some people say they really like the coupe, but to me, that one is even worse.

Honda & Acura need better designers; the sooner, the better.

honda, and just about EVERYONE ELSE, needs to stop copying overrated bmw styling cues.

while not a bmw fan, i will admit they make great handling cars that are fun to drive. it is on THAT basis people love them and they've developed a loyal following.
the CRAPPY STYLING cues are incidental, and NOT a factor in making a beemer or ANY car "handle" with magic feel. maybe some retarded stylists at some car companies think slapping on an ugly Kinky Hoffy roof will also impart "magic feel!"

You are usually one of the more sane people on this board S4, so what happened with this comment? :)) I'll give you hurting pretty badly, but hardly dead. I just wish Honda/Acura would have stolen some of those Audi designer's instead of the GM/Saturn one's. The new A4 looks amazing.

Acuras product line is old and down right awful but Acura is far from dead - it still sells a lot of cars and I feel their next generation of cars (next 5 years) are finally going to get serious about performance and luxury...I think...I hope...they better!

I say this because I have an expensive taste in cars but Honda helped me through some rough years getting started. Maybe they are crap now(???) but I sure liked them mid 80's to mid 90's...and they were good enough to help me interested in cars as more than transportation.

and that's something to be so proud of? i got a job as a TV cameraman with NO experience. and quickly became Chief Cameraman at my local NBS affiliate. my "education" in TV was simply WATCHING the tube and typical framing and timing. plus a FEW hours of eqpt. familiarization. all the rest was OTJT.

qualification: i indeed didn't have any prior educational/professional TV experience. but i did have still photog experience and a few film courses.

i also had and have further developed, an extremely high level of VISUAL Literacy. built upon complementary courses in Art, Design, and Psychology.

I knew Acura had lost it years ago when they dropped the Integra. It's only been getting worse. I was at a major car show and realized after I left that I had forgotten to visit their area. I used to be an owner and a fan of the brand, and I had literally forgotten about them. That's bad.

i fully agree. Acura dropped the ball, ditching REAL names for alphabet soup gibberish.

supposedly, they didn't like that Legend and Integra had more name recognition than "Acura" as a brand. that was bad???

Lincoln musta listened to the same IDIOTIC marketing guys. well Continental and even Town Car still sticks in my mind than the blah insipid (and not so insipid rebadged Mazda) models whose names i CAN'T EVEN BE BOTHERED to learn.

I didn't miss their booth at the Chicago autoshow, but I wish I had. The new RL was real, not some scary made-up story used to keep little kids in line.

If Acura is dead then what about Lexus and BMW? Lexus numbers dropped 9.3% and BMW 6.7%.

btw CR-V is just awesome. Class leader for sure. Here in UAE i see tons of them. but Accord sales are not that impressive. I thought it would be up in double digits as it's a brand new model but they are actually down.
