Nissan GT-R UK pricing announced
Nissan is today releasing prices and specifications for its new GT-R supercar. UK deliveries begin in March 2009, but selected dealers – Nissan High Performance Centres – will be accepting pre-orders accompanied by a £3500 deposit from 2 April this year. From 4 April, customers will also be able to pre-order GT-Rs by placing a deposit on-line at www.gtrnissan.com.


On-the-road pricing for the GT-R is as follows:

* Nissan GT-R £52,900
* Nissan GT-R Premium Edition with automatic headlamps and digital Bose® audio system £54,200
* Nissan GT-R Black Edition with exclusive Kuro black paint, gunmetal grey alloy wheels and black leather and Pearlsuede interior with red leather highlights £55,500

That's amazingly cheap.
A 911 turbo is £100000 or thereabouts - this thing is the same as an M3, but offers so much more of everything!

And have you seen the Nissan's balance sheet or production costs for this vehicle? Unlikely. Remember, Goshn said that they would not produce the GT-R if it lost money to make it. FTI, the GT-R has been around for a very long time...

No EL, Porsche has simply been monopolising over the decades so it's about time someone put them on check. Plus, you'll be lucky if you can actually get a GTR for £55,500. If anything they'll sell at a final price that is more expensive than the 911; and guess what, people will buy them.

It's funny how without "expensive" carbon parts it outperforms the competition in every angle. So what do you get when you replace the standard GTR parts for more exotic ones? Enter the GTR-Vspec coming in a year or two.

The GT-R is doing that to the industry. It's man slapping and shaking it up. Scaring the jeebus out of Porsche turbo, GT3 and.... Its unfair but also the M3. I appreciate the numbers of the GT-R but I respect, for whatever underlying motives, what this car is going to do for the supercar status quo in general.

Ummm, EL34, I can assure you that Nissan is a making a lot of money per GT-R: this car is the golden child of the PS3 generation around the world. Even if Nissan charged 50% more, they woudls till sell every one they could make, at worst the waitign list would be a bit shorter. There is no sense in any manufacturer losing money on a car in such high demand. The low cost of this car is a pure function of the remakrable production efficiencies of Nissan.
