AUTO SPIES WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Rumor: The next Tahoe/Yukon

Last August, we debuted the first spy pics of the next Tahoe/Yukon that will be introduced at the next Detroit auto show.

Our first reaction when we saw the pic was that we were incredibly underwhelmed to say the least.

In fact I thought that my wife's current Z71 Tahoe was actually BETTER looking than the new truck.

I said to myself, maybe the pic is way off and seeing that the SUV was still a year and a half away, the final design could end up being a lot better.

Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case.

Sources tell the Spies GM showed the new Tahoe and Surburban to key GM employees and let me tell you, the reactions from those in attendance are EXTREMELY negative.

We're told the next Escalade is nice looking but if you've been waiting for the next Tahoe/Yukon...you may want to start picking up brochures of trucks like the Armada, Q56 and others...

Another group is supposed to be shown the vehicle (we can't say who)next week so we'll have more info after the private showing.

GM is just crap except for the Corvette...

The Q56 has headlamps and foglights that make it look like a SAD bull at night. I have seen 3 instances of this and that alone has made me lose my love affair with the Infiniti Q56.

If this is the best that GM can do for their big money making SUVs then I think it may actually be time to consider buying Ford stock - after all the beneficiaries of a GM misstep, in this part of the market, are likely to be Ford, Dodge/Jeep and Toyota.

Oh and Dodge and Jeep - you guys should be rushing to market with your own very large SUVs to take advantage of GMs plight. You have a product gap - close it now!

I would not want to be in one of those American SUV's in a crash. They buckle and snap and the dashboard collapses on your legs etc.....

I've seen way too many videos of those things hitting walls at moderate speeds. In many cases, the door frames buckle severely, letting the doors open, and the driver almost fall out.

A late-model sedan is a better bet.
