The new 3-series photos from Geneva-Part 2

A BMW chassis with those bigger engines is going to be glorious. Still not totally sold on the front (1-series lamp shape) or the back (though light years ahead of the 5/6/7), but the overall lines are very nice and I'm liking it more and more. Given the very positive early reviews of how the car actually *performs* (that's right, it's not purely about looks, folks), it seems like it will certainly remain king of its segment. Keep on dreaming, Japan...

This design is the most acceptable of the BMW series. The front kidney grills or nostrils are at least proportional to the headlights and give that front end a bada$$ look. The bumpers front and rear are rounded off appropriately so as to keep the Teutonic BMW shape, unlike the 5,6, and 7 series whose rear ends and and angles imitate the worst designs of American and Japanese cars as of late. Looking forward to seeing what the 4-door M3 will look like.

The new IS tries to hard to look interesting, but coupled with dated styling features such as the rear light clusters, and Hummer-size wing mirrors, the new 3 wins the design battle.

It is much more sleek and organic than the Lexus, with creative forms that have not been seem before. It has character.
