BMW to make decision this year on an electric car for the U.S.
In order to meet its long-term goals, BMW will decide on a electric car for the U.S. market this year.

Speaking in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport, CEO Norbert Reithofer said that BMW will making a decision later this year on an electric car for the U.S. consumers. He did not give any details on whether BMW will pick a partner to produce the car or whether the car will receive a BMW badge.

Perhaps BMW should just buy Tesla? BMW is rumored to be acquisition shopping, Tesla is fairly far along in their development of EVs, and Tesla's performance orientation fits in nicely with that of BMW's. Just a thought...
