Great! So what's not to like? The front passenger seat needs to have adjustments identical to those of the driver's seat. I don't like the transversely mounted engine and cheap AWD system.

It sure compares favorably to the Highlander, but to the RX? Nope, not even close. Even GM wouldnt make that claim, as they easily have an RX competitor in the Buick Enclave.

I don't think it compares favorably to either (close to the Highlander but not quite), but why would it compete with the RX in the first place? And what makes it "not even close" when the cars aren't competitors? The RX's interior doesn't set any standards, and it's not very space-efficient either.

the Enclave and Acadia are essentially identical.

I generally like it, but for half the price that they are asking!

Lexus RX? Why people pay $10K extra for a bit of tranquility and softer suspension is beyond me. May be they LOVE to pay $$$$$ for a loaner and car wash while car is in service.

Compared to Mazda CX-9, GM trio are more spacious. Other than that, nothing is better. If Mazda had a luxury brand, I am sure that CX-9 GT will be in it. For $30K to $35K (actual market prices) fully loaded, it is a very good deal. Check it out. I got one.
Highlander is cheaply made (check out the 3rd row seat, it is a joke!) and over-priced by $4000 in comparison.

Mazda CX-9 has won award after award.
MT Sports Utility of the year 2008
Trunk of the Year, North America Autoshow (Detroit)
Car and Driver, 5 best trucks
Automobile magazine, all-stars
(to name the top four awards)

Have the GM trio or Highlander won anything yet?

001, you know that head-up displays are available on other things than the Corvette!! I saw you making a comment about how nice the HUD was on the new X5, and I LOOOOOOOVVE the HUD in my 6-er... saved me several tickets.

The GMC Acadia looks very nice, but it has LOADS of plastic, never mind the quality. A Land Cruiser costs around $30k more than the Acadia, I can't even list the differences here, they're not in the same class! I hope Agent001 was referring to a different vehicle.
