Next Audi A6 rendering

Alright now, can Audi stop making every model almost identical? Interior as well.

You should add BMW and MB as well, its the same product but in differen sizes.

not so much...I personally can tell which class or series it is from a distance but with Audi (the front aspecially) I have to get pretty close to it to confirm.

From a distance u can't make out whether it's an A6 or A8. A4 or A5. And believe me some days ago i parked my car and at little distance an A6 Avant was parked i noticed it slightly then went inside the market, when i came back i saw it again and it was actually Q7.

All Audis look too identical. Just differnt sizes. Same interiors. Nearly same engine options.

Audi needs to visually differentiate their models more.

Audi design has become very predictable - distinction in design between the model range is gone.

There is nothing predictable about Audi's design. You must have model cohesiveness otherwise you end up with brand dilusion like Ford or GM, where you can't tell their cars belong to the same family or brand even.

Audi's design is distinctive, sleek, modern and best in class, specially interiors. There is nothing old or predictable here. Maybe that is what the competition wishes for Audi, but hardly so.

The sport models (TT and R8) are very distinct yet follow Audi's modern lines. Same goes for the A4/A5, A6 and A8 ranges and soon we'll see similarities between the Q7 and Q5.

Audi is on a roll for a reason and I intend to keep buying them as long as they keep in the same direction.

Audi needs to really revamp this model to generate sales. The previous A6 was a beautiful car with a design that looked great even at the end of its run. I personally have never liked the current model, and think Audi needs to address their failure to create a better A6 than the one before it. It used to look clean and very teutonic.

Time for Audi to switch it up a bit.

I am not sure how it is a failure as the current A6 is the best selling car in its class globally and outsells the 5 and the E in Europe for the last several years. It is quite a success.

The current A6 also won the first 'World car of the year' award, and as previously stated, outsells the 5 and E class in the world. Audi are laughing all the way to the bank in their 'failure' car. What it 'fails' in is not offering some super-sported up car at the expense of comfort (BMW), nor have Audi claimed that it is the last word in handling (Lexus). It does what it does, and the Avant especially does it very well, being one of the biggest trunks in its class, as well as good rear legroom.

I live in a place called America. I don't care anything about sales or awards, we are talking about the car in question. Which is the "almost forgot it existed" A6.

I believe the current A6 is totally boring. Looks like something my grandfather would drive. The previous model was gorgeous inside and out. (I would know, I used to own a A6 2.7T)

The new model is slow, expensive and needs a refresh badly. Their V6 is so boring it hurts, versus the amazing turbo six in the 535i. Their V8 performs leisurely compared to the lighting quick E550.

And before you slam BMW, just remember who Audi is trying to catch up too. My "super sported up" 335i is more comfortable than you can imagine, and if you think BMW's aren't comfortable, I suggest you go drive one.

VISO, Rupert, you know I'm an avid Audi fan but even I agree with Chip. The A6 is a snoozefest. Maybe it's because we both had 2.7T's and were disappointed when they offered an extremely boring n/a V6 as its successor.

It looked cool... then. It's looking old... now. So is the E-Class. The 5 Series still looks fantastic. Isn't that funny? Everyone was saying the opposite three, four years ago.

BTW--none of this applies to the S6. That is a marvelous beast.

BTW, to all three of you: according to a major Audi VIP (he has an A8L W12, S8, S4 Cab, R8 and RS6 on order) on the Luxury Lounge on Edmunds, the current 3.2 is only a stop-gap for the updated, still n/a version making 305hp. It will also still displace 3.2 liters. This begs the question, WHY DIDN'T YOU DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE???

S4, you are indeed correct that none of this applies to the S6. That car is flawless. It looks mean, modern, menacing.. you name it. And more importantly, it has the brawn to back it up in the form of its V10. It also looks noticeably different than a regular A6.

The regular A6 is a snoozefest. So is the Merc E-class, but they did change up the appearance of the E350 a bit, and they threw in the super V8 from the S-class to the E550, so Mercedes gets credit for staying competitive.

And the 5-series refresh was tastefully done, and really revamped the car.

Audi has had so much going on (new A5, S5, A4, TT, R8) that they have let their second most important model (after the A4) slide. It's practically invisible in todays market. Adding the S-line package did very little to help the car.

It needs new engines, different bumpers, changed headlights and taillights, a refreshed interior (the new A4's is nicer) etc.

This car used to be everywhere. Now, I barely see/notice them.

The current A6 is beautiful, probably the most so in Audi's lineup and in its class. It's definitely the most underrated car in class, but when beauty is taken into consideration, it leapfrogs to the front of the pack.

Hopefully the final version of the new one will keep that going.

Is it really hard to predict what a future Audi will look like???

Add a couple A5 character(?) lines (the worst Audi design cue since the big shnoz), update with some funky headlights and presto, new A6.

I'm sure it will still look beautiful as all Audis (even those with big grills and curvy lines) do.
