Peugeot and Toyota planning hybrid Le Mans race cars
Le Mans could soon be vying with F1 in the technology stakes with news today that Peugeot is planning to race a hybrid-diesel car in next year’s 24 hour endurance race. The news comes from the carmaker’s new CEO Jean-Philippe Collin who revealed that a prototype hybrid-diesel racing engine will be fitted to the existing 908 chassis and will start testing later this year.

Speaking with French newspaper L’Equipe, Collin confirmed that the car will complete a couple of trial runs at a press event at this year’s Le Mans race in June.

Funny how just a 2-3 years ago..*blink of an eye..about 95% of folks visioned hybrid as a fad, won't work, diesel is future yada yada...talking out of their asses and now take a look.

I was probably one of few folks in this web-site that was a pro-hybrid at the time and now look.

-You cannot argue the POWER of the HYBRID anymore.
-You cannot doubt its current popularity.
-you cannot say I've never heard of Tesla!
-You cannot deny hybrid is in ultra-demand.
-You cannt demand the world's most reliable car is a Toyota's Prius hybrid which also the current title holder of most satisfying car to own score for CR.
-You cannot deny Hybrid is a vision even being tested on the battle field, mainly U.S. Army.
-You cannot deny each and every generation of hybrid is getting lighter, smaller, cheaper but more powerfull and increasing its mpg.
Now, its running races..
how quickly the tide turns..in matter of 2-3 years..hybrid has made incredble stride and its just a beginning. You can count on that! Watch and see.

I think Peugeot are doing well without your advice. Infact, back in days my most admired car designs came from peugeot. right now they are trying out different ideas and perhaps Peugeot can improve upon what the toyota has made it so popular and beat them in there own game.

"Clearly this is another marketing PR stunt from Toyota where they can claim that they're going to make car racing green because they're using hybrids."...Spellchecker001

What little credability you MAY have had, you just flushed down the toilet with that comment.
