NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: What Are Your BEST and WORST Choices From This Year's Show?

Now that all the new vehicles have been revealed at the 2008 New York Auto Show the Spies want to know your choices for the best and the worst vehicles at the show.

Below is a sampling of photos from our extensive New York Auto Show Photo Gallery for you to peruse...

Let us know your winners and losers below!

For me, my favorite is the BMW CS Concept.

I know it's not new at the show but the more I see it, the more I think  of the Kylie Minogue song 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'!

In person it's a jaw dropper!

I also REALLY like the GMC Denali XT Hybrid...One word for it...BADASS!!!

They should call it the Denali 'Phantom'.

On the losing side for me was the new Acura TSX.

So much opportunity was there for Acura to show signs of a comeback but obviously they don't believe revolution is necessary to get them back to relevance.

What a shame...they make pretty good stuff.

But in this competitive game, pretty good doesn't even get noticed.

All boring, already seen old cars. The only things more tiresome than these cars are the auto show tarts or maybe the poorly fitted and finished Australian imports all based on old Opel Commodores or Diplomats.
All very dull and repetitive.

GoObama,

SHUT UP! Why did you avoid this thread, you puss!

http://www.autospies.com/news/New-IS-F-M3-C63-Comparo-MotorTrend-27503/

I will tell you why, your IS-F got its ASS kicked.

Look at the lap times, DOMINATED by the M3.

LAST PLACE in the comparo.

Have a nice day, you moron.

Both the Nissan Maxima and Infiniti FX need a redesign.

The BMW CS and Cadillac CTS Coupe are timeless works of art.

Your photo compilations are pretty worthless. You provide no vehicle identification (every photo claims to be a Lexus -- or was that a paid ad I was forced to look at?). Unless there is something in the photo that gives make/model hints, one is left to guess. I don't have that kind of time to waste.

Lexus did in fact pay for the ads, and you mean to tell me you can't tell which cars are in the photos?

o_O

eamaxson,

Lexus is the official sponsor of the 2008 New York Auto Show (Plus many other galleries we shoot) and part of the deal is that they get their ad placed in all the gallery photos.

We use that format versus annoying popups like other auto sites use.

And regarding not naming the models, almost every car has a badge or a name on the plate.

AutoSpies.com is the number one auto site in the world for people who know cars...if you need that kind of hand holding we suggest you try one of the lowest common denominator style blogs.

autospy you should have 1 non art side shot of each car along with your art shot so we can always see what the car really looks like. and i agree the lexus paid ad should tag another way - it distracts too much...
but thank you for the coverage from someone who is not able to attend the shows..

CS is not a leader, is an answer from BMW to take part of the CLS market, so then CS is following the CLS.

JAG XF Hit the jackpot (hopefully), I saw it on the Hiway in real life, nice!!. But I don' see any1 really stopping at a stop sign and TURNING the gear knob to "N" to rev show off the exhaust.

Agent001 one of us must be blind you claim the 3 series and all BMW'S have the best looks, yet I don't see how you critize the TSX apart from its Euro Accord looks. The TSX looks more revoulutionary or whatever you want to call it than both the IS and the G.

I went to the NYC Autoshow yesterday. Here are my opinions.

Acura TSX - Pretty nice, but bland. Not enough engine.

Audi A5/S5 - Look great! The interior was a bit disappointing compared to other Audis though.

Audi A4 - looks good, but not as good as the A5. And too similar to the previous generation.

BMW CS concept - Impressive. I wouldn't call it beautiful, but it's a great concept. And a good direction for BMW styling.

BMW M3 coupe, sedan, convertible - again the best in their category. Interiors could be improved though (same can be said about most BMWs).

Buick Riviera Concept - keep it Chinese market.

Cadillac CTS Coupe - Liftback shape does not not as good as the Sedan.

Chrysler EcoVoyager concept. Innovative interior, awful shape.

Dodge Challenger - looks great, faithful to the original one (my favorite pony car). But, can it help Dodge/Chrysler?

Hyundai Coupe - Looks good (though the dip after the B-pillar is questionable), and it's RWD! Good progress by Hyundai.

Honda Fit - Nice. It moved a bit upscale.

Infiniti FX - Good update, but the front looks overdone!

Lexus IS-F FiveAxis - I don't like the regular IS-F that much, but this version was nice. Extra aero bits worked, and the paint was stunning!

Nissan Maxima - good overall but weird details (headlights, some cut lines) makes it a somewhat messy design.

Pontiac G8 - not good enough.

Saab Aero X - I didn't like it.

Scion Hako Coupe - just atrocious

Toyota Venza - good looking wagon... sorry, "crossover sedan"

Suzuki concepts - nice but irrelevant.

001, Great job on capturing the auto show event and the true feeling and beauty of NYC.

BTW, what ever happened to those meet and greet events you held in the city?

WINNER: #1 Nissan Maxima, hands down....anything to replace the 04-08 max is definately a winner in my book!(especially 04-06 uuughh). But this new one is the best EVER to me!
#2 Infiniti FX, looks great also.
#3 BMW 1 Series looks ok too (Not a big BMW fan but it does look nice)

LOOSER: #1 Acura TSX- First...from the front it looks like a Mazda Protege (Circa 2000ish), second who in their right minds would pay $30k ($28k+ for base)for a four cylinder car?? I dont get them...for them to have been so fly back in the 80's & early 90's when the first came out they have dropped completely out of the sky to me. they used to hold their own with Lexus back in the day with the Legend, Integra and the Vigor...but they still have the same tires engines and now they have added boring designs. The American designers have even shot past them.....They dont even have a V8 (and yeah i know its coming...20+ years later).....ACURA GET IT TOGETHER AND GET RID OF 4 CYLINDER CARS FOR A "LUXURY LINE".....C'MON

PONTIAC SOLSTICE COUPE!

Once again GM has managed to take a gorgeous concept and translate it into production with very few chances (none of which have significantly changed the appeal, and one, the targa top, makes it even more versatile).

I WANT ONE NOW!
