Even Obama Dogged By The Spies?

Even Obama Dogged By The Spies?
You won't see us spying on Obama anytime soon but we thought it was rather funny seeing this cover of the New York Post on our trip this week to the New York Auto Show.

But we did SPY the new BMW M3's (Coupes an Sedans) and the 1-Series fo the first time in USA dealer showrooms and lots.

We caught these at South Bay BMW in Torrance thanks to a tipoff from their ace salesguy Drew.

Thanks Drew!

MAN! $70G's for an M3 sedan!

My wife and I went by the dealer tonight. There was an M3 coupe, sedan, and a 135i. The sedan looks great; dare I say better looking than the coupe?

The 135i was going for $43k with everything but navigation....what a chunk of change.

It's hard to want to choose an M3, when the car for $30k less will outrun it. I'll give the 1 series a few months before there are auto accidents from inexperienced drivers pushing the car to it's limits.

you don't need a few months--inexperienced drivers are causing accidents everyday on 200+hp cars.

1. The 135i will not outrun an M3. That is just a ridiculous statement.

2. At $35,000, the fast and furious crowd can't afford a 135i. Inexperienced drivers aren't going to be a problem.

upgrade the ECU, put an exhaust on it, etc and it will keep up with it at least

Why does it have to be a fast car? You could crash an Echo if you're careless.

I have a feeling Obama drives a Chrysler 300 ;-)

If that's true, then I expect Chrysler to resurrect the Imperial and the Next presidential limo will be an Imperial.

Yep. You are right Obama does drive a Chryler 300C. It was on the news the other day. You can check this out from car and driver.

I don't know if Im feeling the "Jerez Black" color. I saw it in person and it looked a little dull. I dont like purple-ish cars.

I say order the M colors: Interlagos Blue, Alpine White, Melbourne Red or Jet Black.

I saw a gorgeous interlagos blue coupe at my dealer in Massachusetts, and sitting right next to it was a black sedan, and a black on red 135i. Nice job Bmw!

My wife and I both work various construciton contracts all over North America...with per diem and paygrade. It's not that I can't afford it. It just seems little excessive; but I guess that comes with the nameplate.

Even people that can afford such things can be money conscious. I don't know. My wife saw the 1 series, and immediately fell in love with it. That, and the 6 series convertible.

We were thinking about the 335xi but, now we're undecided. Obviously this is all subjective.

I'm clearly the definition of "whipped".

Me personally; I'd drive 500 miles out of the way for the Pontiac G8. Absolutely no car can beat it for power on the dollar(brand new); even if the first U.S. delivery is 6speed automatics. Although I'd much prefer the 6speed manual w/ LSD.

Even though the LSD will probably be junk, the new Camaro aftermarket will probably correct that issue within a year.

I am disappointed to see how many of the options and packages on those cars are not standard features at that price.

I mean, auto dimming mirrors, the universal garage door opener, power front seats, and digital compass can't be standard at $34,900?
