Alfa's RS4 and M3 beater spotted

Alfa’s 159 GTA sedan has been caught by a spy photographers testing near Germany’s Nurburgring circuit ahead of its sales launch pegged for early next year.

Up against established leaders like the BMW M3, Audi RS4 and Mercedes C63 AMG in the performance sedan market, the hotted-up Alfa sedan will be facing an uphill battle as soon as it’s launched.

However, the Italian beauty reportedly has some tricks up its sleeve that just may leave its German competitors gasping for breath - most notably a Ferrari-derived V8 engine.

I agree the 8c is overpriced. How can they sell a Front-Engined car, with detuned Ferrari F430 engine, for more than an F430?

The 8C is a limited production car who's body is made of carbon fiber. That's one reason why it costs more then an F430. Only 500 coupes and 500 spiders will ever be made.The GTA will probably cost M3 money. It will have similar power to an M3 and RS4 and sound fantastic. Hard to say on US plans. It may come a yr after Alfa starts selling it's main stream cars in the US. This is supposed to happen next yr.It also looks like Alfa may go RWD with it's premium cars as Tata Motors and Fiat jointly produce cars in India. Also Ratan Tata is on Fiats Board Of Directors. Fiat's CEO Marchinne has expressed intrest in the chassis from the XK/XF to be used for future Alfa's like the 166/159 and Brera replacements.

It is great to see Alfa Romero attempting to return to the scene. It would be an unprecedented shame if Alfa Romero was to disappear as a brand. The marquee has such great racing and automotive history that is deserves its icon status. Let us hope modern day Alfa Romero can do just to its past someday.

Why is Lexus around? Why shouldn't Alfa be around? Your bias and short-sighteness is amazing. You cannot possibly be an automotive enthusiast. Stick to grandpa cars and bland vehicles that look like toasters on wheels and leave the real automotive enthusiasm for those actually understand brands with great automotive history and heritage.
