InsideLine gets pulled over doing 91mph in a Nissan GT-R
There are only seven U.S. spec Nissan GT-Rs available right now and the very very very lucky folks at InsideLine are in one on a three day trip covering about 3,000 miles. Basically, Nissan cut a deal with Edmunds saying that they can take the car on a road trip as long as it makes it to Nissan engineers in Reno, Nevada in one piece.

Just as the trip was starting to get a little boring (we highly doubt we’d get bored even for a second), InsideLine got some ‘popo’ action yesterday after their Oldham’s vintage detector failed to pick up the radar. Clocked in at 91mph, the guys luckily got off the hook with a warning.

Just another reminder of how much my job sucks.

Edmunds, please hire me!

What?!? You have never received a warning? I can count being pulled over 6 times before I ever received a ticket, and that was for going 93 MPH.

There's no bragging here but being a US Veteran has gotten me out of trouble (traffic tickets, etc) many times.

Your insurance company must be very happy with you as a policy holder, isn't it?

I agree about the laser but I can't think of anything else that is as good or better. For radar though I wouldn't use anything else.

i got off the hook doin 120mph last year. it was around 2 am and i was tellin the cop, "c'mon, there is no one out here(I-95) and he just gave me a "unclear plates" violation which was $50. it was awesome

I've done 130+ on I-95. You're absolutely right, between midnight and 6am, there is very little traffic on I-95, and the troopers seem to tolerate high speeds (between Baltimore and Philly at least, not to sure about the rest.)

I got caught doing 104 in a 55 zone in Tampa. I had on my USMC uniform, spoke respectfully to the cop and acknowledged my error. The cop, while pissed, wrote the ticket for "unlawful lane change." 44 bucks mailed to the state and no points.
In my experience, if you're not a butthole to the cops, you have a chance of getting it written way down or maybe even getting off with a warning. Apparently, the Inside Line guys know the drill.

Blew by an unmarked doing 95 in a 55. Passed him on the right no less (shouldn't have done that). He pulls me over about a mile down the road and gets out...takes my information and runs it...he comes back and says to me that "I should be careful...I could cause an accident going that fast...I know what it's like to drive your fancy German cars...my brother in law has one just like this...slow it down or the next time I'll write you two tickets!"

Not all of them are so anal!

Got pulled over doing 51 in a 35...I simply explained to the cop that it was my first day in the V6 accord coupe and the only other car I had ever owned was a suburban. It wasn't a lie and I got a warning. It was actually my girlfriends car...and every time i get in it, I love driving that.

What's 91mph?

Middle aged German women drive to work at over 120mph.

130MPH is what HEAVY traffic sometimes moves at in Paris (not everyone of course)

I've been in bumper to bumper traffic at almost 120mph in Germany and on a trip once from Paris to Berlin I drove a 4cyl turbo diesel Mercedes at over 145mph (website said top speed was 137mph so maybe car exaggerated because I'm definitely not) so what 91mph

Spend a couple thousand kilometers at over 150MPH on busy freeways (in Europe) and we can talk about fast driving.

For real drives look no further then YouTube. Look for the video where some a-hole jerk races his diesel BMW on busy country roads in Czechlandia

so what are you trying to prove? They were pulled over for going over the speed limit. So people drive fast in Europe, good for them.

91 mph when you're surrounded by idiots is quite a bit. I understand what you're saying, but it's different to drive 91 in the US, where many have no clue of lane discipline and where our municipalities like to use speed enforcement as a revenue generator. But in case you really don't know what 91 is like, why don't you drive up to 90, open your door and step out...

I was on my way to killington, and got a ticket for going 45 mph in a 25 mph. I tried to talk my way out of it, but the cop was an old women, and she told me that I could have killed someone and was thinking of giving me a second ticket.

Hi Gooch,

I agree with your post and as for knowing what 91mph is I've done a couple thousand kilometers at over 240km/h in busy traffic, and still got kicked out of the fast lane many times at those speeds.

Europe of course.
