Next-gen VW Golf rendering

Next-gen VW Golf rendering
Volkswagen’s sixth-generation Golf hatch is less than a year away and this new rendering gives us an early look at the final design of the car.

It shows VW designers are keeping with the current model’s stylish yet conservative shape but are going with a more chiseled and edgy look.

There could be a shakeup of the current lineup with the possibility of the two-door version being dropped in favor of the all-new Scirocco and the Golf being limited to a four-door hatch and Variant wagon only.

like y.u? lol kidding.

It's nothing drastic. Maybe they wanted to play it safe lol or it could just be a refresh design.

It also has a 'crease' in the sheet metal on the shoulder line of the car - a first for small Vdubs...and it makes it look alot like the Mazda3 hatch and the 5 series.

Interesting comments. It's amazing what some people see. To me, it looks 90% like the current car, which, in GTI and R32 guise, has a nice stance and presence. It is on the road where the differences in cars is apparent, especially from European to Japanese to American. Sure, in photos, some people may see Hyundai or Mazda 3, but this car, on the road, will look completely European.

good to see that horrendous grille is absent.

btw still the bumper is bland and air intake is oversized.

Ok. Nice subtle changes.

I don't know who creates these renderings, but I am beginning to doubt their accuracy. Earlier this week we saw a rendering of the next-generation A6 that looked an awful lot like the B8 A4, and now this next-generation Golf that looks a lot like the current Golf! What gives?

At least they are chiseling it and getting away from the smooth flowy look. Makes the car look too girly and less rigid. Keep with the creases.

Bottom line, it's still priced out of its main target market against Civic and Corolla.
