BMW Kills V8 Diesels In Favor Of Turbo 6

BMW plan to stop making V8 diesel engines, as six-cylinder versions offer better fuel efficiency and performance.

BMW chief executive Norbert Reithofer told auto motor und sport magazine, "We have decided on a six cylinder diesel with a twin turbo system.

This engine has higher performance than a V8 and is more fuel efficient.

These motors are more than likely still diesel, just not V8s but I6s.

Very interesting. I wonder how much torque the twin turbo I6 diesel will put out?

I'm also shocked that the Toyota fanboys haven't chimed in yet.

But the I6 3.0d TT is not powerful enough for the 7 or X5, Audi has the 4.2TDI and MB has the 420CDI.

Im sure BMW will regret not having a V8 Diesel engine in their lineup.
