So you think the minivan is dead huh? Think again

Competition from Honda, Toyota and Chrysler knocked out GM and Ford out of the minivan segment over the past couple of years leaving the three automakers to eat up all the volume in minivan sales. All three get to split up the 700,000 units a year segment amongst themselves and they are enjoying it.

However, minivan sales have been declining in the recent years, especially due to alternatives like seven to eight seater SUVs and the popular crossovers. But some people want and will always need a van to haul their families and cargo around.

cx-9 is a good choice (m/t's sport suv of the year)
what do guys think about the dodge caravan and the chrysler t & c??
imo, the dodge looks kind of oldish, and the chrysler borders on the side of controversial (ugly)....... :?

I hate the way all minivans look and drive, but after trying to take one road trip in any of the SUV's or sedans out there with two kids and my wife's 8 suitcases I had no choice but to buy one.

On the upside because of stow and go, I don't need a pickup truck to haul things from home depot.

And now my wife doesn't have to complain about how many seats or doors my car has b/c we take the van everywhere when there are more than 2 passengers

It ain't dead yet but the competiton from SUV's like the CX9, Acadia and the like (none of which were available when we bought the van otherwise this post would be far different) things are certainly approaching that long walk off a short pier.
