Seems OK for a country where the maximun speed is about 40.

The whole idea is that this is a 4x4 not a Ferarri! So the whole speed comment was just ignorant. This is one of the best examples of how a 4x4 should perform if you can afford to repair it.lol My friend spent $10,000. to rebuild his tranny in one of these! It wasn't covered under warrante but should have because the factory oil galleries in the tranny were too small so the tranny failed prematurely.

looks like an extra spartan jeep to me, but i havent seen the interiorso i cant really judge...isnt Land rover like a lux brand??

Yeah but the Defender is so far from luxury it's hilarious. It's more hardcore than the Wrangler, more of a workhorse.

This is just a pale copy of the real thing. The Defender 50th anniversary will run circles around this thing.
While we are on the subject try this:

I love the defender, especially this latest 'update', however how many have actually sat in one?

I am 6'1, and my goodness is it cramped behind the wheel. It still has 50's driver ergonomics despite its flash new dashboard plucked from the LR3, which is a shame.

Matthew1: The clock on the dashboard of the 2008 Defender is actually off of a Jaguar XJ if I am not mistaken.

Interesting fact. However the rest of the dash is pure Land Rover.

If you are commenting on the interior you should avoid this spartain vehicle and drive a car or some princess of a suv! I am happy to see there is a real 4x4 still being made! For the first time the updated version doesn't look watered down!
