I absoulutely am a Range Rover Fan, but the Sport version seem to not give the full thing compared to the X6 in my view.

im a bmw fan but pictures really make this car look good, i saw one at my local dealership here in NC, and it looked awful, it is oddly proportioned, and border line hideous....from some angles it looked good, but from others it looked horrible i couldnt believe in person how rediculous it looked after seeing the great pictures maybe it was the silver color that made it look bad

Yeah that thing looks hideous, the pictures at certain angles show its chocolate side but in person,,,, I dont understand why people are going crazy over this thing, they really need to stick with their bread and butter, the 3 and 5 series..

When I saw it I was just underwhelmed. I wouldn't call it ugly, but it just didn't blow me away.

The range rover sport would be too easy of a target. That car is really more about image than it is about driving.

The Range Rover Supercharged Sport is a masterpiece, this BMW buggy is a disaster. The RR Sport is an eltie vehicle. The X6 is a bastard child, which will become a sales flop.

the RANGE ROVER is a masterpiece. the real deal.

the range rover sport is a poseur. have you driven the thing? unimpressive. interior is claustrophobic. and it doesn't feel expensive the way the real range rover does. it's just an LR3 with a different body.

I have driven it actually, my roomate has one. 06 RR Supercharged Sport w/ the entertainment package. The V8 is a soundtrack the ride is flawless, the engine is a beast, a 15 speaker sounds system, 20 inch sport rims, brembo brakes, adaptive suspenison, adaptive headlights - by far the most classiest SUV on the market besides its the bigger brother. Poser my ass, the RR created this market.

In No way possible way does the X6 compare to the RR Sport, the X5 yes, X6 - nope. I love BMW, but they are making some stupid moves lately. The 135 will kill 330 coupe sales and X6 will be a embarrasing flop for them.

I still hold the point that a 5 series touring is faster, more practical, better handling (no matter what tripe BMW will feed you), more fuel efficient and cheaper too! Maybe the 5 doesn't have the presence of this thing, but I suppose there are still suckers who will buy this just because it's new and ugly.

And rear visibility must be awful with that slit-like rear screen.

Sixth picture from the top exemplifies exactly what your talking about, how can anyone see out of that thing??

I sat in the X6 at the NY Auto Show, Im 6'2 and my head was rubbing against the headliner.

It just looks like they took the Z4 coupe, enlarged it a bit and glued to the bottom half of an X5. Coherent? I think not.

I'm 6'1 and I know I fit very well in a 5 series, so clearly the X6 is very poorly packaged.

And on top of that BMW wants around 80k euro for this thing in Germany......my opinion it's pre programed for a flop.......

For the few on here that dont like it, the response at the dealers has been nothing but exciting. I have yet to hear anyone say that it is hideous or anything like that. This is a niche market vehicle. They are only building 8800 units for the US. I have seen it in Black and think it looks very good. Everyone's opinion is different. that is why there are 33 flavors of ice cream.

It looks like a helpless X5 just got stopped on and the result was the X6. Way to F up a great vehicle BMW. I am slightly embarrased I ever owned one of your cars.

you're embarrassed to have ever owned a bmw because of this car? that's dumb.

by your logic, driving a benz must be hugely embarrassing given the R-class, B-class and a few other winners.

BMW of Nashville had a open house Friday night introducing the new M3 the 1 series, and along with the cars, they had an X6 on hand to sit in and look at. I was not a big fan of it when only in print, but in person it is certainly an interesting vehicle. It truly has an imposing look to it that the X5 doesn't have, and it commands a certain amount of respect based on its proportions and "swagger."

Not sure if it is the most practical of vehicles, and I wonder if it tires quickly in the marketplace like the Mercedes CLS, and other niche vehicles.

Time will tell for sure.

In the meantime, I love listening to 8400 RPM in my 2008 M3 sedan. That is truly music and makes the upgraded sound system a redundancy.

Range Rover Sport "killer"...yeah right. I dare anyone to take this X6 and follow a RR Sport on a true off road course. You want to see who is the Real Deal then? Didn't think so... Land Rover builds vehicles that are exceptional on road and off. Tough as nails. There is no competition. I'd take MY Range Rover Sport over the X6 any day of the week. In fact, the X6 has an uncanny resemblance to the Infiniti EX35.

Tough as nails. That's if they actually start. Oh, and lets see, which engine shall we put in the vehicle this year? Rover, BMW, Ford, TATA? Ha, ha.

I really don't know how I feel about this car. I don't think it looks very good in pictures but I liked it when I saw it at the autoshow.

It would be smart to keep that rear console an option, Mercedes does the same thing with the CLS to add to the "coupe appeal."

Im sorry i own a 535i 2008.. I just do not like this design at all.. Who designed this thing anyway? I know it wasnt the guy that did the 6series, 5series, 3 series, 7 series... Probably some new designers on the block. Also, Its not a range rover sport killer.. Range rover has designs that never get old. Classic. Plus arnt the facelifting the range in 2009? Yes.. Its going to pimp slap x6.. Turbo v8 is really really cool though. They are making a new 5.0 liter engine for range sport. You know them indians are going to turn around that whole brand into something good. Out of the Top ten billionaires in the world. 4 are indians. They arnt dumb and they will manage that brand way better than before..

I think Homer Simpson designed the X6......and it has real no reason for existance and hell it's not really supposed to be used for real off road expierance either, this thing is pointed only at the American market for people with too much money with no real reason for owning it. Its like a five n one multi tool that probably also slices and dices as well.... To where a Range Rover actualy has and serves its purpose for being built...

"damntard" The X6 may not be the RRS killer as the title suggests it is, but with exception of looks & off-road capabilities (Though I can't see any owner taking a RRS off-road), it pretty much does everything better than the Range.

Usually BMW designs grow on me over time, but I can't say I like this design, strayed too far a way from the concept I guess. Also, I am getting a little tired of the current BMW interior layout, I think they need a new direction in cockpit design. Not a BMW hater by any stretch, but I am not feeling the X6. It will sell, but as all BMWs seem to sell, but the Range Rover just seems to maintain that classic look to it inside and out......
