Videos: BMW X6 xDrive35i and xDrive50i in action
The BMW X6 is slowly arriving in BMW dealerships across the nation this month and BMW has just released a very lengthy press release giving us a detailed look at its new Sports Activity Coupe.

Hitting up the U.S. with two engine variants, the X6 will be available with a 3.0L 6-cylinder engine that produces 300-hp and 300 lb-ft of torque for the xDrive35i and a 4.4L V8 twin-turbo that produces 400-hp and 450 lb-ft of torque for the xDrive50i. The xDrive50i does 0-60 in 5.3 seconds, the same time it takes the smaller 335i.

The new BMW X6 xDrive35i will be the first to arrive in showrooms later this month with prices starting at $53,275. The xDrive50i will arrive later this summer priced at $63,775.

Check out the video of both models in action after the jump. Make sure you turn up the volume to hear the sounds of the xDrive50i. Also check out the new press images of the xDrive35i.

This has got to be the most boring video I have ever seen. I kept waiting for something to happen and nothing did. That was 8 minutes of my life I will never get back. Watching two animals have sex is more exciting than this video.

I hope they put that V8 into the 5/7/X5, yummy.

I'm sorry, but this vehicle is still ugly. Maybe if they called it the X5 xdrive 50i SAC, i'd be a little more receptive.

It's just an X5, with a low rear roofline, and a biga** engine.

...or even the X5 SAC.

That's the funniest post I've read in a long time. This whole segmentation thing is just getting ridiculous.

I think BMW loses credibility by continuing to push the whole 'sports activity coupe' marketing nonsense.

Land Rover had the right idea in calling their product the "Range Rover Sport". BMW should have called this the "X-5 Sport" or something like that.

I still think this X6 is a turkey. At least the RR Sport has a much different interior to differntiate it from the LR2 on which it is based. Aside from the bunker like back-seat and those stupid knee pads, the X-6 interior is exactly the same as the X5

"At least the RR Sport has a much different interior to differntiate it from the LR2 on which it is based."

I agree with a lot of your post, but...

1. It's based on the LR3, not the LR2.

2. The interiors are actually quite similar. Save for the amount of wood trim, the two LRs have identical center stacks, like the X5 and X6, although I will say the X5/X6's interiors should be more differentiated.

I don't think the X6 will do well. It's just unnecessary, and the only person who's given it a rave review is Agent001.

Hideous vehicle, horrible name. X6 xDrive50i? BMW needs to fire their marketing department if that's the best they can come up with.

The X6 wasnt officially launched here in the UAE, but people are still buying the 3.0 I6 for more than $30k of the official price for the V8. Thats crazy.
