New 2009 MB E-class spy pics
We’ve got the inside story on the latest Mercedes E-Class! Our spies have captured the clearest pictures yet of the BMW 5-Series rivalling newcomer, including the first shots of its interior.

As you can see, the cabin is strongly influenced by the S-Class luxury saloon. A large centre console is topped by multi-media display screen, which is controlled by the COMAND wheel located between the front seats.

Externally, the saloon takes its cues from the recently launched C-Class, with a steeply rising waistline and distinctive character lines. At the front are bold sweptback headlamps, while moving around to the back of the car reveals LED tail lights.

Hi-tech systems will be a major feature of the mid-size Merc. PRE-SAFE collision warning, an ESP system that automatically adjusts the steering to compensate for cross winds and a range BlueTec diesel engines will all be available.

Expect to see the E-Class make its first public appearance at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Sweet! Hope it looks like a larger and more aggressive, c63 when it comes in AMG form. I love the c63 AMG. Truly badaaasss!

Seats look very comfortable. I wonder if they'll be anything like the S550's

Funny, I read your comment before even looking at the user name and was gonna go off on how you were wrong. But then I saw it was no one other than GoObama... Enough said.

GoObama, you are so full of crap! This looks nothing like the cheap Toyo/Lexus GS.

You really get off on stirring the pot don't you, even when you know you are wrong.

Pardon me, but do you know how the GS interior looks Obama?

Go0bama, I know it.

Lexus has been ripping off Mercedes for a long time.

It's a lack of original ideas by Lexus.

That is one handsome interior.Very nice improvement. And the exterior design will be even more sporty and elegant. It will be a great Mercedes inside and out.Nice job Mercedes ...

The new Mercedes looks like it just got rid of the middle shifter. Also, looks like they got rid of their touch screen navigation, and got a command system in. Looks like the audi/bmw interface. At least its better than the old one. Great job MB. Can't wait to see the exterior shots.

it was never a touch-screen
really a horrid system with buttons - the new COMAND solves this

definately looks good, though that center dash was pulled directly from the C class. either way, very handsome interior. it looks like the car gets a more advanced version (of buttons) for the COMMAND

I'm really anxious to see this car. I've owned several models of every E-class chassis since W123. So it's a pretty safe bet that I will be buying one of these too, eventually.

Never once in history have I been remotely interested or impressed in the e, and I can tell this one will be no different. Yet another boring sedan from m-b, that'll move thanks the star on the grill and no other logical reason.

headlights look like that of refreshed SL. Exhausts LS460ishh. Interior doesn't look very good till now, got too many buttons with ugly steering wheel. Exterior is nice though. Big C classishh.

The exhausts look more "S600ish" to me. Seeing how they're not integrated into the rear, they're the same rectangular shape and it's another Mercedes-Benz sedan.

But that's just me. I could be wrong.

what do you expect... the E class is the segment leader & from where will all the ideas be merged... ofcourse from mercedes line up...

dont you see the resemblance of lexus IS & GS interiors? probably take any manufacturer.

they already have market segment & they WILL surely increase it with this model...

I'm not usually a fan of that C-Class wheel, but the rest looks quite well.

Okay well guys prepare to deboost. I do not like thses interior shots. I like the interior of the current car a little more. Interior of the new E looks really 7 series to me and thats not a good look. But then again I really don't like the interior of the GLK either. Looks like they are designing the interiors with a straight edge now a days.

The baby benz,190E,C-Class and the 123,124,E-Class models have been the "Bread and Butter" for MB and I am sure this one will set standards once again........

after seeing the interiors of New C class, GLK, CLC, SL and now this new E class, i think MB needs to hire new interior designers. There new interiors really look plain and bland (Except S/CL which were also criticsed for looking like 7 series's interior at first). Ugly sterring wheels, unimaginative centre console design.

The new E-class will be a 2010 model, not a 2009 as indicated in the headline/article title. I've confirmed this with my dealer and through other sources online.

looks like the E-class has lost its "independent" styling. now its just a MB midsize sedan.

I can't tell if I like the interior or not. It looks a lot like a combination of the X5's interior and the C-Class's interior, but with a lot more buttons than either. I guess I'll just have to wait for the real thing.

In the fourth picture, in the background there is a dark green XF... what a stunner!

It is really ugly to not have the gear nob. Plust there's nothing impressive about this interior similar to what its replacing. But one thing caught my eyes and that's the support that's on the driver's back side, that looks a good idea.
