2009 Buick Lucerne E85 joins the flex-fuel vehicles range

The 2009 Buick Lucerne sedan will join General Motors’ industry-leading lineup of flex-fuel vehicles that can run on either ordinary gasoline or E85, or any combination of the two, GM Vice President of Environment, Energy and Safety Policy Beth Lowery said Thursday.The Lucerne, the first flex-fuel capable Buick passenger car, will be among more than 15 GM models with flex-fuel capability in 2009, up from 11 offerings this year.

I guess you are not aware that a box of corn flakes contains only a couple of pennies worth of corn and that animal feed is a huge byproduct of the corn ethanol process. However I have to agree that cellulosic ethanol from sugar cane or agricultural waste is a far better way to go.

Like I keep saying, Flexi cars are only made better than petrol because they have a bigger fuel pump. Makes after market FI a breeze.

Actually the Lucerne isn't being fleeted. Sure it may be purchased by rental agencies but they are not discounted like GM cars used to be (still are if you count the Grand Prix). The Lucerne is actually a well balanced large sedan if you took the time to look at one objectively you would know that.

When we finally smarten up and implement policies that help reduce the world population we will remove the competitive forces that drive up prices of the world's scarce resources and everyone can have a decent standard of living instead of living in despair on a garbage heap we call Earth.

Correct statement about ethanol but it gets even better. There are microbial processed on the horizon that actually suck CO2 out of the atmosphere and convert it to fuel. GM has taken a minority interest in a company with a process for producing automotive fuel at $1 per gallon.
