i have to agree with JUGNU. an suv with so much power and with a price of a house is completely pointless. i see a porsche cayenne turbo like once every 6 months, i think i saw a x5 4.8 twice....these super SUV's are redundant. not sayin that BMW or Porsche shouldnt make SUVs but these super powered ones are so rare to be seen but it does sell just a on very low volume

"totally pointless" = "I can't afford it"

If you had ever driven one, you wouldn't think it's so totally pointless.

LX570 or any other SUV in that category(full size luxury) are real SUVs, far more sensible and meaningful. LX570 using similar fuel is understandable as it seats more people, a great offroader, high seating position and high ground clearence, way more luxury and features...etc

Cayenne is a crossover. OK probably the best handler but it still no 911. Therfore that performance = equal bad fuel economy, it's taller and at that price point makes it totally pointless.

btw randy this is my personal opinion as a car enthusiast, it's not about affording or non affording. I probably have driven cayenne more that u have seen it on the roads. (I am a car dealer)

How is the LX being a "great offroader" any more meaningful or sensible than the Turbo S being fast and fun to drive? Both are about having fun, in quite different ways. Why is a performance SUV so frowned upon and an off-roader isn't?

Besides, take off the sport tires and the Cayenne is more competent off road than any SUV other than the Range Rover. The Turbo S does road AND off road.

I have to agree with Amazin Bimmer. The Corvette is kinda white trashy. The only people I see driving Vettes are old bald guys with pony tails. The Corvette was something special when they were kids so when they grow up they buy one because they are too cheap or too broke to buy a better car.

On another note I kinda like the Cayenne Turbo S. Heck I like the Cayenne S, GTS and the Turbo. I can't afford a new one yet but its a great suv. I'd driven a last gen turbo and it was awesome. Its not really meant to be a true sports car so that criticism is pointless.

The Highlander Hybrid looks just about the same, has plenty of zip, all for half the price.
