hmmm... I wonder if that's an aftermarket front bumper. Very clean job if it's a modified stock one.

I had a look at the cost of industrial quantities of carbon fiber panels. These can be cut to fit whatever. Carbon fiber accessories have only a small incremental cost of materials yet they sell for an arm and a leg. Every industry looks for ways to screw you by overcharging for perceived benefits that ain't there. The worst example of this is the watch industry which will sell a watch with a gold case (that is not even 100% gold) for multiples of what the identical watch in a steel case sells for. Gold scratches easily so why would you pay ten times as much for a gold case?

dude, its a business. if you want to change things, go into business for your self, sell the parts for pennies of the manufacturing cost, and try to stay in business. It cant and wont ever happen. They charge for the craftsmanship and the exclusivity of the material used. Not to say that carbon fiber or even gold is that exclusive, it is more expensive than high impact plastic or steel is. And it is pretty expensive to purchase the equipment used in the manufacture of carbon fiber. They have every right to charge what they want, just as you have the right not to buy it.

Carbon fiber is expensive, but you cannot beat the weight savings, hence the carbon fiber roof on the M3. If they can shave ~200 lbs or more off of the GTR with carbon fiber, then it will be worth it to a hardcore enthusiast with a big enough wallet. This car already has world class acceleration and handling, imagine the same car on a diet with a tuned ECU to turn up the boost. Even though 0-60 is a pretty meaningless stat, I can see a lightweight GTR hitting it in 3 seconds flat. Even if you drop ~20 grand in lightweight carbon fiber, you still come in under the price of a 911 turbo and you will absolutely destroy it........
