Chevy's Muscle car CAMARO Z28 hits the Ring, Watch out Germany
The guys over at Edmunds Inside Line got their hands on one hot spy video : the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro being tested at the Ring. They believe that this version being tested on the ring is the muscled out Camaro Z28 judging by the red Brembo brake calipers and a wheel / tire package old Camaro drivers would trade months of beer supply for. The sound of the motor featured in this Camaro prototype brings shivers down our spine. Even more bad ass will be the engine rumored to sit in the SS version of the new 2010 Camaro: "GM's supercharged LSA V8" which could push over 525 horsepower.

While the GT-R is a cool car. It isn't the end all. Nothing is. The Z/28 Camaro will be a serious performer, make no mistake about it. The question becomes: what is the price and will the market pay support it?

Judging by the past the Z/28 will bring unheard of levels of performance for the dollar (just as the 98 LS1 Z28 did, just as the 03/04 Terminator Cobra's did). Will it outrun the GT-R? No, I personally would crap my pants if it did but will the car run with the big dogs like the SRT-8 Challenger, GT-500 Mustang, and likely with some higher end AMG cars and likely the M5. It won't be as plush, stable, or refined as the luxury cars but in pure performance it will keep up, I have no doubts.

Yeah, really!
IMO, they should only talk about the cars YOU like on this site. Having a broad perspecitve on any one topic, such as automotive news, isn't worth a damn.

I wonder how many empty Schlitz cans were left on the track after this.

Typical Camaro driver prefers red things. Bud heavy, Coke and Marlboro "reds" would have likely been consumed at an alarming rate.

Schlitz is a precious commodity now that pseudo dirtbags, and the 55+ crowd have made it a novelty :)

This Camaro will be popular with all the Italian guys in New York City.

The IROC Z-28 was popular with the Italian set in the 80's. And since I am from Queens, NY, was in high school in the 80's and remember that IROC meant "Italian Retard Out Cruising" I get a real kick out of your comment.

As long as Rubbermaid does not design the interior (like they did the Mustang) I would buy one. But if the interior looks like a AIWA boombox with plastichrome everywhere it will fail.

Unfortunately from the spy shots the interior seems to have been left behind when GM Design went to work on the exterior. It ain't looking good, as I expect the next Mustang to have a great looking interior.
