2009 Ford Fusion to get more powerful and efficient

Speaking to dealers last week in Las Vegas, FoMoCo revealed that the new 2009 Ford Fusion will get a more powerful and more efficient powertrain when it debuts later this year.

The current 160-hp engine will be replaced by Ford’s new 2.5L 4-cylinder unit that produces 170-hp and is mated to a new six-speed transmission.

I hope they really have a good quality interior that is more stylish than our Fusion. Never know I might replace our 2006 version.

How about the Mercury Milan, or better yet Lincoln MKZ or Zephyr? Same car a the Fusion, but a much higher trim level and a very nice wood grain dash. Driving cars w/o wood grain dashboards makes me irritable for some reason, because I know the builder can give me more than a black plastic dashboard in exchange for my 4 year loan.

The Milan has almost the same dash as the Fusion and yet the Fusion still has better exterior design. What I meant is tht they should try to bring it above the Camry and Accord level of Quality. Heck they shld jst bring the Mondeo's interior.

The Fusion is just another boring design by Ford. Giving it more power won't help the sales very much.
