Lexus LF-A high pitch scream from V10

Yesterday we saw spy images of the race-going version of Lexus’ upcoming LF-A supercar and now we have a video of the car complete with the shriek of the car’s high-rev V10 engine.

Engineers are hard at work getting the car ready for next month’s Nurburgring 24 hour endurance challenge, which will also be the car’s first major public outing.

Toyota has confirmed via its Japanese press site that its upcoming Lexus LF-A supercar will contest the Nurburgring 24 hour endurance challenge.

Sounds like a F1 car at high speed and a rumbling beast at low speed.

Looks and sounds amazing. I'm sure the performance will be as well. But before the fanboys oh so predictably begin comparing the LF-A to the GT-R, remember, the LF-A will be priced at more than twice the cost of the GT-R. Both are sure to be incredible cars, but in no way is it fair to compare the two given the disparity in price points.

The extra cost is for quality, and it will always be worth more.

My God that is an amazing engine note: it will rev to just over 9,100rpm according to the latets prorotype tacho.

However, without 4wd and the massive torque of the GT-R, it may struggle in some situations to match Godzilla. The Lexus LF-A will be a stunning competitor to rwd Ferraris and Aston Martins, but I am not sure if it can beat Nissan's beast.

We will have to wait and see.

Yeah "Go0bama" I think you're right...I swear I saw the LF-A when I was watching Star Wars on Spike the other day! Truly just a machine ahead of our time.

There is no torque steer issue with the LF-A. It takes a Nissan V-Spec of over 600 plus hp to even come 1 sec short of the un-official lap time at the German ring @ 7:24 done by the LF-A in past test runs. And I can see that number becoming even lower by the LF-A in the near future. True on the price point though, with the GT-R being of a value purchase based on power per dollar. But the the end of the day it does not matter which one you drive. Japanese performance is on a new level.

would you call the 911 gt2 rice?

don't know a bunch of dolts decided that ALL spoiler bewinged cars = "rice."

those fools apparently don't realize they actually SERVE A FUNCTION.

when the audi TT first came out, it eschewed a spoiler, to have a stylish clean look. instability at speed FORCED audi to subsequently "rice" the TT too.

This is very exciting and will do great things for the Lexus brand worldwide. The main comparison I want to see is this versus the Audi R8 (or the Gallardo).

Luxury underdog supercar vs. luxury underdog supercar.
