Peugot Diesels Top The Podium Yet Again in European Lemans Racing

The outcome of the 1,000km of Monza, second round of the 2008 Le Mans Series, was only decided at the end of the thrilling final 20 laps which saw Pedro Lamy catch and pass the Number 2 Audi R10 to claim overall victory for the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP.

The Number 7 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP of Minassian/Gené which started from pole position was, however, delayed by transmission problems which dropped the car to 34th. Once repaired the Franco-Spanish crew fought back from the setback to claim fifth place in front of the Number 1 Audi, and put Peugeot on top of the Manufacturers’ standings.

You seem to know you F1, but you could hone your sports car knowledge just to stay a shy sharper than a bowling ball.

Here are a couple of reasons. Shell specifically developed the Gas To Liquid (GTL) synthetic diesel fuel that powers the R10 TDI. I am not so sure on the fuel supplier of the Peugeot 908. I ask myself this question: If diesel sports car power is "third tier" why do they win Le Mans? Just a thought. Do you need a tissue? You don't do you? I hope not.
