Aston Martin Supercar under development

All of Aston Martin fans found out that the British manufacturer is working on a brand new supercar which is going to be a direct competitor to the Bugatti Veyron and Mercedes SLR. Sabino Leerentveld, a Dutch designer, unveiled its vision of how the new supercar will look like. His renderings made a good impression om the internet forums but the problems could be another one…

Is Aston Martin going to build mid engine supercar or it will reconsider a front-engines V12 coupe in order to challenge cars like Lamborghini and Ferrari?

An Aston Martin supercar is definately a mouth water proposition. As for the styling of this concept rendering, I'm not 100% supportive of the look portrayed, but then if this thing ever does see the light of day, then it will change significantly from these initial renderings anyways.

Also, whomever it was that wrote the article must have forgotten that the Veyron costs 3 times as much as a McLaren SLR. They are not really competing head to head. And as such, I doubt an Aston supercar would be competing with Veyron's either.

I think an Aston Supercar could possibly take on competitors along the lines of SLR, Enzo, Carerra GT, and maybe Zonda. Out of that group I would expect an Aston to lean towards the "softer" side of supercars like the SLR rather than the track hardened street cars like the Enzo and CGT.

In any case, it is an interesting proposition! I would love to see and Aston supercar in production on day soon.

Its not nice at all, nose is too long; you can't tell if this model represents a front/mid engine car. The Austin's grill doesn't look good on a super car like this.

I'm very sure the point of these rendering is to be very ambiguous. This early in the game I'm sure they wouldn't want to release such vital information. As far as the Aston grill, I think that isn't the issue. I rather like it in almost all sort of dimensions and scale seen on vehicles and renderings. I'd say it's the rest of the treatment in the renderings that throws it off. As mentioned above it does kinda look like a giant catfish.
