Should Formula One Be In Danica Patrick's Future?

She won 1 race - which is good, but she's not yet a tier #1 driver in the league she's currently in - and she may never be.
And Tier #1 driver thinking of F1 in any of the North American racing leagues is like being a high school football star thinking of an NFL future..
Probably not gonna happen..

How much of a difference is there between the cars used in each league?

After two Indy seasons, Graham Rahal is going to get the call. Maybe a season in GP2 to learn the tracks and BMW test driver? Danica Patrick no way. The cars are as different as a M3 and Mustang.

I'm not sure she has the talent for F1 (but she might), but the weright would be an advantage. Everyone is making a huge real about Kubica losin 15 pounds and how the engineers were able better destribute the extra wight onthe car because of it. she's so small the engineers could put the balast weight where ever they like.

Hahaha, is this for real? Several Indy Car champions could barely hang in F1...now that she's won one race, she's thinking about an F1 test, you gotta be kidding me. Look at Michael Andretti, Christiano da Matta, Alex Zanardi...they were great Indy drivers - sucked at F1.

Some excellent Indy Car drivers have done well such as Mario Andretti, Juan Montoya(would have won a lot more if he was racing a BMW Sauber now), Jacques Villenueve...but these guys were dominant in Indy, not just winning a race here and there.

Actually, none of the drivers that you mentioned "sucked" in F1 were in equipment that would get them to the top step of the podium. Michael Andretti's last race was at Monza, where he did finish 3rd. He seemed to have a season-long hankering to run into Karl Wedlinger, who was driving a Sauber-Mercedes. McLaren's engines that year were Peugeot or Ford, and even the great Senna had to wring the cars to get the most out of them.
Zanardi, who had previously driven for Lotus, went to a Williams team that had lost its way. Ralf Schumacher wasn't the best teammate either. From what I heard, Williams loved Alessandro's technical input, but the car didn't have the speed to make the most of his technical acumen.
Da Matta went to a fledgling team that didn't have its legs under it. He showed well on the high-speed tracks but no one could take that car and make it work.
In the modern era, only Montoya (I'm still pissed he's not in F1; his talent is wasted in NASCAR but I guess it's about the money now) and Villeneuve had the stones and the equipment to win. JPM should have always been a Williams driver. That team was perfect for him.
Danica would be a nice publicity stunt, but I think she has the talent to show well there. Remember, she's experienced in Europe and has beaten some of the major drivers there in lower formula. Still, I doubt she'll ever get to F1.

No Indy or CART driver achieved much in F1, except for Jacques Villeneuve (1 championship). Recall Alex Zanardi. A CART champ and he was consistently outperformed by his teammate in F1. I mean, good luck to her, but she has about 0% chance of achieving anything in F1.
