2009 MERCEDES SL550 - SILVER ARROW EDITION

2009 MERCEDES SL550 - SILVER ARROW EDITION
Here are some pictures of one of the first redesigned 2009 Mercedes Benz SL550 to hit showroom floors.  This car is the special wearing the 'Silver Arrow' edition with Silver Arrow paint with Red Leather interior.

Pictures really do not portray this car as one in person does.  The aggressive stance and overall personality of the car is different from SL's of the past.  There is an air of arrogance with this car that previous SL's simply didn't have.  If the last SL was "pretty" this one sure looks mean and intimidating.  This car screams "get out of my way" in the way it presents itself on the road.

The side vents are reminiscent of the SLR McLaren, and compliment the exterior as a whole adding to the overall design of the vehicle.

The interior is beautiful with Red Leather complimented by Black accents just about everywhere you look.

For me personally, this would be my color combination of choice, I just wish it had the 6.2 liter under the hood to make it a SL63.

This car, and especially the forthcoming SL63 will certainly turn a lot of heads, but the person who benefits the most is the lucky person fortunate enough to be behind the wheel driving this great automobile.

Special thanks to Brad Snyder and www.mercedesbenzofnashville.com for allowing us access to the car.

Very nice.

I've always been fond of that color combo.

I like the color combination (though would really like white exterior with the red interior). And I still think the previous model was better looking. The front end on this one looks very blocky, chunkier than before. From the side the front end looks like a brick, totally out of place with the rest of the car that looks flowing and dynamic. The outgoing model was much more curvaceous and stylish up front.

I sat in it at the Mercedes dealer near me, I really like that interior color. They also have the new SL63 on display, now that car is pure bad ass.

From how far back must you be able to tell its a benz!?! The big logos appear to be the new direction for MB, and Honda/Acura.

What? The logo is the smallest its ever been. You're clearly unfamiliar with the older models 80s 70s 60s 50s and so forth

Thanks for the shots, now I'm loving this lift. I've always liked the silver (or white or gray or black) over red on the SL (or most luxury convertibles in general).

love this car but they should have changed the design of the back lights.

No? Why, too much leather for you? Notice how every single surface in the interior is leather?

In my opinion it is an exquisite interior, obviously the basic architecture is a few years old now, but materials and fit/finish are exceptional. (In my experience with the last model).

Well, the only luxo convertible that has a better interior at this price is the Jaguar XK. BMW 6 Series does come close, though. Porsche 997 is left behind, although I have to say that when outfitted with the full leather, it feels sensational to be in there. So, I guess it's all pretty close in this class.

Gorgeous! The retro side-gills are definitely a nod to the 1955 Gullwing 300 SL. However the highly functional yet Aesthetically challenged headrests may need some getting used to.

They did a great job with the ones on the SLK, They look like they belong in the car. I dont know why they went this direction with the SL

Ugly! Boy did they ruin the front end of this car. It doesn't look any better in person either.

I'm starting to feel it, but I still like the previous Mr. Peanut headlights better. This color combo is striking.

Jaguar's XKR is way cooler than this, XK is a better car in every way. the Merc isn't a bad car mind, it's just that the Jag is so good in every way...

Looks really good except the headlights. Not sure how that fits in with the Mercedes-Benz look.

Love this color combo. I have a 79' SL in the same livery. Classic.
