RECALL MONDAY: 90,000 Highlanders To Come Back For Faulty Seat Belts

Toyota Motor Corp is recalling 90,000 model year 2008 Highlander and Highlander hybrid sport utility vehicles due to potential problems with securing child safety seats in third row seats.

The locking mechanism on the seat belts apparently cannot secure properly when certain rear-facing child safety seats are used, which could cause the child seats to move, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported on Friday.

Actually, I have a friend looking at the Highlander, and I went with them to the dealer--has a surprisingly spacious third row. I could fit without much hassle, although I'm only 5'9".

This coming from a Toyota customer. The fact is that Toyota/Lexus have as many recalls as every one else. It's the fact that nobody cares because they think that Toyota never breaks! Just great marketing on their part.

talk about wheels fallin off,wern't there problems with tundra's lower ball joint's poping out of the socket! never heard that happen to a new american truck. Let's just face it toyota's brake down like every other make.
