Top 10 Fastest Cars in the World

While gas prices continue to go up and the economy continues to go down, some could care less and would rather buy the fastest gas-guzzling cars on the road no matter how much they cost. Forbes has teamed up with Tom duPont to find the world’s fastest cars for their latest Top 10 list.

“A Bugatti test driver took a $100 bill and plastered it on the dashboard,” recalls duPont, who was invited to strap into the passenger seat for a demonstration drive. “He told me I could have it if I could grab it once we took off.”

As many of you know the amazing Bugatti Veyron goes from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 253mph.

“The car accelerates so fast that you can’t touch [the $100 bill],” he said. “You can’t move your hands.”

I am waiting for that New British Car to top 270 mph and a Swiss Car Maker is working on one that goes that fast too.

The Ultima GTR and the Caparo T1 already rip the Veyron on acceleration.

But look at all the cars on the list, none is as luxurious as the Veyron - A classic in my opinion !

Have you seen a Bugatti in real life? They're amazing and I hate Volkswagen products! It has so many details that don't show up on photographs.

i beleive 200-210, you only get a mere 500 hp with only one key.

You get the full 1000hp, but it has the spoiler up for extra downforce and handling, so it'l 'only' do 235mph.

I will take this list with a pinch of salt as the 599 Ferrari and even the S65/SL65/CL65 AMG Mercedes go faster ( The Mercs without the limiter ).
Heck even the M5/M6 go 206 mph.

The only car missing from this list is the Ferrari Fiorano 599, it's no doubt faster than an SLR & Murcielago.

They are talking about Cars which are in production.
Thats why you do not see the Bugatti EB110 and the Jaguar XJR-15 etc etc

Damn - I can make a list of over a dozen cars faster than the SLR and the Murc. then

Exactly, I didn't mean the 599 is the only car in history faster than the Lambo & Benz that's not on the list, but, correct me if I'm wrong, it's just one of the only 2 supercars in production missing from that list... The other being the Porsche 997 GT2.

There's a lot of cars missing from that list... Ferrari Enzo (3.2), F50 (3.6), 599 (3.6), F40 (3.7) and that's just Ferrari's.

And as for top speeds maybe they don't all make the list byt the Enzo def does, and I'm pretty sure the F50 topped at 208 (even though man est was 202)and the 599 is 205.

"FerrarisR4me" again this is a list representing the current 10 fastest production cars on the road, the Enzo & all those Ferrari's that could make the list are well past their production date. BTW the 599 GTB is faster than the F50.
