BMW increases their prices starting June 1, 2008

As expected, BMW will increase their prices on most of their models. Since the dollar decline, it has become obvious that BMWNA will increase their base price on some models and also packages and options.

Base prices increase are as follows:

Base price increase of $300 on X5, Z4, 328i and 528i
Base price increase of $400 on 335i and 535i
Base price increase of $600 on the X3
Base price increase $1000 on M5, M6, 750i, 750Li and 6 Series
Base price increase of $1500 on the 760Li
Destination charge increase of $50
Automatic Transmission charge increase of $50
Metallic Paint charge increase of $50
Premium Package price increase of $100
Sport Package price increase of $100
The base price increase will affect all models with the exception of the recently introduced M3, X6 and 1 Series. All price increases will be efective June 1, 2008.

Even though the increase is pretty much within the standards of what we have seen in the past, I'm sure some people will be disappointed. Despite all of this, I still believe that the BMW's price are quite competitive.

Umm, this is a minor increase considering the high price of these cars already. Toyota did what? increase $300 the price of a camry or corolla 16-20K cars while BMW raises it $100 on a +$60K car. Plus the Euro in case you havent noticed has appreciated tremendously and the yen although having appreciated hasnt much.

minor? it's $400 for a bse 335i, but then everyone add the following:
Destination charge increase of $50
Automatic Transmission charge increase of $50
Metallic Paint charge increase of $50
Premium Package price increase of $100
Sport Package price increase of $100

So 400+350=$750.
Minor or not, it's still something. Much more than yours $100.

They are already overpriced, especially in Canada. I hope they justify it by finally providing proper side moldings to prevent BMW owners from falling victim to lo-lifes who ding other people's doors in parking lots.

not a relvant comparison as the yen is not particularly strong while the euro is at an all-time high of $1.60 (in the 90s it was at 90 cents).

all european exporters are hurting BIG time--hence the screams coming from sarkozy and other european leaders.

BMW's the last company that should be raising prices. They price gauge on options already - since their base models are strippers. You know what they say, only free option you get with it is the "air" inside the BMW :)

BMW is going way out of control with their pricing! The base price of all BMW's should AT LEAST include the premium Package, Auto tranny as a no cost option (like they have done with some models) and decent looking Wheels. As a current BMW owner I can tell you we have had several in our family and are starting to switch over to Infiniti, due to the fact that there are certain features Infiniti gives you such as an LSD when you can't even get that on a none M car.

I am not only speaking for myself but most other co-workers and friends of my family who used to drive BMW's for years have switched on over to other brands due to BMW's aggrogant attitude towards charging more just because they are BMW.

do any of you understand how exchange rates work?

90 cents for a euro = reasonably priced european goods
1.60 for a euro = HUGE price increases

basic math.

to compete, they'll have to make more cars in the united states.

Also to add to my comment, why is it that BMW has to charge extra to get Leather, iPod connection, Xenon headlights (On some models) nice looking wheels, power seats, comfort access, a nice sounding stereo, etc etc etc. Other companies like Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, offer this standard.

I hate it when I see these lease specials for a BMW 328i or a BMW 535i for X ammount per month. Walk into a dealership and I beat you 1.) you won't get that price cause most of their cars in stock are heavly loaded increasing the price by at least 7 to 10 grand more. or 2) you end up getting the car and waiting a few months with basically nothing in it cause the heavly optioned car would cost an extra 200 to 300 more a month, ON A LEASE? Come on that's ridiculous.

what are you crying about? There is a reason why infiniti's are less money than a BMW. Go buy a Porsche and they charge you for the Stainless steel brake handle, floor mats etc ... The great about BMW's is that very rarely are the cars equipped the same way. Why is it that on an Infiniti, I cant get bluetooth unless I get the navigation?

Kind of like buying a townhome. Part of the allure of building a house or townhome is getting what you want in it. Lennar builds cookie cutter homes that are exactly alike from one house to the next. Nothing like having a house warming party and going next door, only to feel like you are re-living groundhog day over and over. I want to be able to get certain colors with different interiors. I hate being retricted to certain colors with certain packages. I am spending $40k. I should at least be able to get what I want.

Im surprised they arent as large as I imagined. Just think of our rapid inflation,declining currency, and rising costs of production and competition for materials and it doesnt seem that bad. Anyone with a slight knowledge of economics will know what I mean.

We still pay less than the Germans do. Try buying one in Europe. Everything is optional and it still costs more even though most are built there(love the EU taxes). Still, relative to other luxury marks, you still get some of the best price for performance and luxury anywhere. Add the 4-year 50,000 mile service (which you don't get in Europe) and it is still a RELATIVE bargain.

We here in Brazil pay MUCH MUCH more for our import cars! If we could pay ONLY $40K for a BMW!!! We would have tons of them on the streets! Here a well equipped 335i would cost around US$180.000,00 !!!We pay around US$60k for a loaded VW golf GTi!!! So stop complaining, People!!!

the dollar is at an all-time low of $1.60 against the euro.

not true against the yen or the chinese yuan--both of which are undervalued.

My dealer told me today that BMW is raising prices by $2500 ACROSS THE BOARD! The increase goes into effect May 19. Has anyone else heard this?
