GM freaking out over Mustang success?

You knew it had to happen.

The success of the new Mustang is absolutely KILLING the brass over at GM.

Retro's dead right?

WRONG!

People are paying OVER sticker to get V8's and owners are ecstatic with the look, performance and value.

What a simple recipe for success.

So simple, everyone of the so-called car guys at GM missed it.

Now the 'Panic' button (much cooler than an 'Easy' button) has been pressed at GM and the wheels are in motion...

So as we predicted, you KNOW a new Camaro is coming soon...(like 2006 Detroit).






Our sources say this thing is being fast-tracked as if the end of the world is coming over at the tubes.

GM...there's only one problem with this thing...it's cooler looking than the Corvette!

And did we say...There's a Camaro SS, Firebird, Formula Firebird, Trans Am and convertible versions in the works?

By the way, based on these drawings, do you like the Mustang or Camaro better.

We prefer the Camaro.

I could tell before even going to the linked page that there was no way that came out of GM design studios. The front end is reminiscent of the mustang!

Those pics werent even drawn by GM but sum kid messing around in photoshop, no way GM will make it look like that.

GM has really gone to crap, their crappy brands and lineups of cars aren't working and wont. The only thing theyve done right is the new Cadillacs(starting with the new escalade a few years ago) and the new Corvette. Whos idea was it to kill the Camaro and Firebird? They just needed a new look like the mustand got and I would take a Camero over a mustang anyday

This info is incorrect. They've already gone on record saying they ARE producing a muscle car, but it will not be the Camaro. It will be a rushed to market Chevelle. Then expext an all new Camaro in late 2008. It will NOT be rushed to market, and it will NOT look anything like these joke designs.

For the life of me I can't understand why, when GM decided to try and get serious about making cars again, it decided to go with Cadillac? They spend hundreds of millions of dollars re-developing a car that only 5% of the population can afford. I would think that the money would have been far better spent turning Chevrolet and or Pontiac into a dynamic, rear drive, high performance brand that most people could afford. Of course I realize, in light of the Fiat debacle and other similar stunts, that GM seems to have it's head where the sun don't shine a good deal of the time. It breaks my heart to see GM become a pathetic parody of its once great self. It is amazing to me that they are surprised by the success of the Mustang. I wonder who ties GM's collective shoes for them every morning.

I see a lot pf people out to bash the General. Many of whom I would venture to guess are too young to know General Motors contribution to muscle car history. It is true that at least 50% of their managment yes-men should be fired and their saleries be used for design. However, shame on those of you who are trying to bash this young man's design, wether it is computer or not, it is a compelling design that the Japanese are sure to try and copy. General motors may be back on track to win their business back from all the cheap imports, and as an American I am glad to see the GM giant awake from it's 30 year sleep.

remember in 80's pontiac trans am were the most stylish and intimidating cars on the road.
hope GM don't ruin that memory again.
anyhow, GM needs to comeout with a miracle to survive. In 10 years, it'll be either bankrupt or bought by an Asian and bet on that. Unless they come out with a magic bullet..and by no means i'm refering it to the hydrogen. Hydrogen simply won't work in my opinion.
