Wow, that is the least informative release ever! Especially given that Astras are already on the dealer lots.

If I ever buy a Saturn again, I will order an Opel logo for it from Germany and replace the Saturn logo. I'm very fussy about logos (for example, I hate the Chevrolet logo and prefer the GMC look over the Chevrolet look). Any vehicle that is a rebadged Opel deserves an Opel logo, especially in the case of Saturn whose logo is not as nice as the Opel logo.
Similarly, the Dodge Sprinter van looks a lot better with the equivalent Mercedes grille and logo.

It's also a Vauxhall. Vauxhall has been selling Astras for 25 years. This is something like the 6th generation.

Vauxhall is a lousy brand (perceived negative value and associated with British cars when they were total garbage decades ago. This may sound unfair if British cars have improved but the stink sticks with the brand.

even without opel logos this is going to beat the pants off the current american focus, this should be enough of a push to get ford to speed the british focus's release here in the US.

It would further help matters if they'd give us a redline model too!

There will be a Redline shortly of the 3 door hatch. It will have the same engine as the Cobalt SS, a 260hp turbo 4. That should be fun to play with and be priced under 25k.
Speaking of which, I have yet to see any Dodge Caliber Redlines on the roads. I parked next to one the other day in my Matrix, it's practically the same height, but because of its stature and wheel gap it looks waaay to jacked up for a small crossover.

The diesel version is also quite good
Sounds like a locomotive but is a hoot to drive.
