HAMANN has released its tuning package for the mini Fiat 500, called the HAMANN sportivo. To give it a little HAMANN touch on the outside, the German tuner first fitted the car with striking 17-inch black matt vanish rims and a strong sound of HAMANN’s sport exhaust system for the 1.4 liter petrol version.

It's the way manufacturers are heading, putting all the technology from their mid and full-size performance cars are putting them into their entry-level models, keeping their sporting image intact but also keeping reducing their carbon footprint....for tax purposes of course.

I know Hamann is a third-party tuner, however the 500 will also be made as a Abarth from factory, and that's the one I would go for.

Too bad you Americans a re missing out, while your most advanced sports car is the Z06, the Europeans are making subcompacts with remote-reservoir dampers, trick LSDs and top-spec Brembo brakes.

Their chassis' have been honed by F1 drivers and engineers with their own performance division, and their turbo-charged engines produce ample power with low-down torque and good economy.
