U.S. to get versions of the Ford Kuga and C-Max

It seems like FoMoCo is finally understanding that bringing its European models to the U.S. will help boost sales. Mark Fields, Ford president of America, has confirmed with Automotive News something that we already knew. The next-generation Ford Focus will be the second global vehicle to be sold in the U.S. after the Fiesta.

Ford will begin putting together the next-generation Focus in the U.S. in late 2010 or early 2011. The C-segment car will be built on the C1 platform that underpins the current European Focus.

Great vehicles, but Ford has had a real problem making these European-engineered vehicles sell in the U.S.

Maye be with Jim Farley in the top marketing job at Ford--someone who actually understands this business and how to market import vehicles--they could actually be successful this time.
