Spy Shots: Jaguar XF-R
So how will the Jag XF-R be distinguished from lesser XFs?

Where to begin? The XF-R has a noticeably different snout, as witnessed by the larger air intakes and bonnet scoops, but the rest of the front of the car is admirably restrained. The side profile is differentiated by stout side sills and what appears to be a body-coloured side gill (the standard XF's is in chrome).

The link actually goes to page two of the article, but in my defense I followed a link with the same problem to the article myself.

The one thing I would like to point out is that while the wheels are taped, they are obviously alloy versions of the chrome wheels on the C-XF.

Looks a lot like a LExus GS

It looks very British to me.

Go back in history and follow the path to the future ;-)

I agree. It was good move on their part to copy from the master - Lexus GS, sweeeet!

This new Jag looks like a Jag and an Aston Martin.

Therefore, Lexus needs to stop ripping off designs from Jag & Aston.

Lexus needs to copy the Honda Civic.

Lexus need to come up with their own designs

Hahaha, nice try idiots. The roofline, side panels, top down profile, front profile match exactly to the GS. The only thing borrowed from the Aston is the taillights and the slightly raised profile of the trunk lid. The front was borrowed from Subie Legacy :)

XF looks NOTHING like the previous sedans from Jaguar. Have you ever seen the XJ, S-type, X-types before? do they look similar to the XF? morons...

It's similiar in shape the the GS but not exact. The rear end of the GS looks fatter. The rake of the xf is steeper makes it look sportier. The XF has a better executed design. The R doesn't look much diiferent from the standard model. A body kit on the door sills, better rims, and the air intakes. But those little changes do make the car look better.

Ya know I have been trading in Lexus GS's all month now and the startling thing is that in person they look nothing alike. The pics are funky in 2 dimensions,For some reason. When you see the 2 next to each other the Jaguar is so much more elegant and at the same time aggressive. It has a much more sculpted look rather than the hars rakish look of the GS. Its actually a shame how bad the Lexus looks next to the Jag, because it is a nice car(I am a Jaguar Salesman and I said that). But next to each othere there is just no comparison. The Jaguar is beautiful while the Lexus is just nice.

auto001 not very bright....because the point of the XF is to not look like the rest of the lineup save the XK. so many misinformed people claiming to be enthusiasts.......for the record auto001 heres a lesson from a real enthusiast the styling that Jaguars are so famous now adays namely the XJ had the same mission as the XF when it was released as did the car that looks alot like the XF the MKX. Ironically both were desighned to bring a new customer to Jaguar, and improve its image while the MKX was as big a hit as the XJ it shows that when Jaguar decided to completely change their thinking, and create a new desighn direction they can sell cars back in 1968 when the non traditional Jaguar XJ was produced to redefine Jaguar, and the new XF in 2008.........

damn, the car looks much more chiseled and purposeful now compared to the regular XF, and of course we know the HP will rise to about 500 HP and there will be larger disc brakes, better aerodynamics, and probably a recalibration of suspension and dampers. Now are Jaguar going to make the XFR as aggressive to drive as the M5, or rather more luxury oriented?

Well, the first gen GS was a design that was meant for Jaguar, but Jag declined... and we saw there fall. LOL

now they have taken the design and future looking good. Looks like the design is very lucky for whoever who adopted it. LOL

even more ironic is how the 2nd generation took ALOT of its cues from the than new e class the front and rear were total tip offs of the e class, with the current model taking many styling themes from current BMW cars.....I fail to see how the Xf looks like the GS other than the sloping roof line, and lets be honest about that Audi did that a few years ago as did VW with the passat before the GS, and have many other cars....a sloping roof doesnt mean anyone copied Lexus....as if anyone would..not a bad desighn but its hard to copy derivitive styling it would have to be very intentional

Lexus looks nice outside... wait until you get in.. you'll see how ripped off they ripp you with those nasty leather senseless seats... Jaguar may have had some history of glitches but i must say the leather and the wood is too different to be even compare

Hopefully it doesn't have the silver/wood Lincoln Navigator interior.

Once again you can't see the interior from photos and decide it looks like something. go see it. It is much more awesome in person. Looks like nothing else including you ridiculous contention that it look like a Navigator interior. Its so much richer than that. the materials are real not plastic and it does make a difference. plus they are not laid out at all the same.
