Jeremy Clarkson actually loves the Corvette C6, he just doesn't like the Z06 that much.

but the Germans were kicking the "shat" out of them till we saved their ass like so many others in our history.....

The Brits hate us for saving their ass. Not to mention kicking their ass. Twice.

And Clarkson is NOT a journalist. He is a comedian.

i think the guy is funny......but anyone that takes his reviews seriously are crazy he is way to bias, and misinformed to be taken as anything but entertainment

Actually, only americans are offended by him, he bashes cars from every country but americans are the only people who seem to be seriously offended by it.

Clarkson is entertaining, just as Letterman is. These celebrities do their best work when political beliefs don't get in the way. Since they have an audience, they take it one step further and try to offer you something more that is not so good.

It is like Porsche making a SUV. It is not what they are known for but since they are well received in other arenas, they feel they are justified in throwing this on consumers.

Sadly, just as people get a kick out of Clarkson's biased opinions, people eat up Porsche SUVs. What might be just right for a few, sometimes is tripe for the whole.

Never liked him, never even liked Top Gear that much. I'll stick to my magazines and Youtube videos of real people doing fun stuff in there cars.

He's an entertainer more than an autojournalist...kind of like some people thinking a blog is "news".

The truth hurts, sure Clarkson is over the top, but for the most part he is on the money. The American auto industry is going the same way the British industry went, down the toilet. Now the British auto industry is foreign owned, the best of it German and the rest was Ford until recently. Even The Range Rover was a German project taken over by Ford. The US industry caters for the lowest common denominator and churns out a lot of crap. The latest Mustang not even offering IRS as an option, its 2008 for godsakes. The US makers have been chasing the quick bucks, over reliant on trucks and SUV's, now high gas prices are forcing them to rethink again, but always chasing the market and never anticipating. Not a good recipe for success.

Much of the current US vehicle trends are set by nostaligic "baby boomers". It is whay Harleys and Mustangs are so popular.

Then in the US there are the consumers that have the "keeping up with the Jones's" mentality when making purchases. Mustang, Harley, SUV are still in the sweet spot in the Jones's consumers.

Personally, I see the Corvette in a different light, though I am sure there are people "in the know" here that would respectfully disagree.

wow what a bunch of crap....the US industry caters to the lowest common demoninator???, while American cars like "German" cars have come along way through the years, not so much with some brands....GM in particular is churning out world class product that need no excuses so catering to the lowest common demonitor was both pretenious and ignorrant. Take off the 1980's glasses and see the current automotive market and you will see American cars arent all gas guzzlers big trucks and SUVS. As far as chasing the market that wasnt the problem the problem was building what the company wanted and not the consumer, there are many other companies that are reinventing themselves to chase the market leaders other than GM

Take Clarkson for what he is: a car guy with British humor and strong opinions. I like how he's opinionated. Its a refreshing change of pace from the publications/shows in the US where the hosts have to say good things, or they'll lose sponsorships. And the nice thing about Top Gear is that you have two other guys to put Clarkson in his place when he's wrong.

Top Gear = best show on TV, hands down.

I'd put my 20 year old Jeep up against a 20 year old Land Rover any day. At least it still runs and doesn't require a specialized mechanic to fix it.

I'd drive a sportscar too if I was a big-shot actor who makes millions & probably has never done a bit of labor his whole life.
Some people need to have a vehicle that doesn't break down every 100 miles with a blown out transmission(ie Jaguar) or can haul more than ass.

Every British vehicle I've ever seen has been a pile of crap after just a matter of years.
Rovers are a great example, what happens when that $6000 hill decent control computer decides to stop working? Can you buy a replacement at AutoZone? I don't think so.

What's really funny is that Clarkson loves the RRS...because its British...if it was German or heaven forbid Asian or American he'd hate it for being an overpriced, overweight, thirsty pig.

My favorite part is when he is comparing the track prowess of a Dodge Crew cab truck to a Ariel Atom...WTF? It is so bias it actually gets entertaining...

I think that this is just a racist post... Car companies I am sure that includes the Americans aren't just going to sit their and let the other car companies kick their @$$... Im very sure that they have brains too. Just like the Merc wont just sit there and let Lexus catch up... its the quality control... I am sure Jeremy doesn't "HATE" any cars... it's his job to introduce the car's pros and cons... if u say he hates America... I've seen him call an Aston Martin with a Floppy paddle gear box and the bmw x3 that is made of 85% recylced material... do u know how embarrassing that makes a B/C Benchmark look out on the market especially today?.... Honestly for an x3 I would have much rather chose a Jeep... someone that actually makes an SUV able to go off road...

Why the hell would he try to take a Cadillac Escalade, with 22" wheels, off-roading? Why didn't he take a Jeep, which is clearly at the forefront of American off-roaders, but he took a Range Rover, which is also the forefront of British off-roaders (besides Defender)?

Amazingly some of you seem to take it seriously - COME ON - haven't you seen his road trip in America on Top Gear.... What Clarkson writes and broadcasts is purely entertainment and provocation. It's his job. He makes money from doing it. Lots of money

Jeremy Clarkson clearly has a anti-america bias. But he does give American's credit when credit is due. Have you listened to the Corvette Z06 review. He said that this was the first time that he has ever had fun in an American car. He does make fun of the interior though........ but lets be honest it has a horrible interior. Its all plastic and it does feel rather cheap. It is also true that American cars are not as great as European Cars. To be quite frank, a Cadillac DTS or a Lincoln Town car is Not a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or an Audi A8 or BMW 7-Series. A Jeep is also no Range Rover(My mom owns a grand cherokee and my dad has a range rover and there is no comparison.) So lets stop the Jeremy Clarkson bashing cause we don't agree with his views, cause then he would be getting the reaction he wanted.

Focusing on a particular standup comedy routine, do you think he was funny when he directed racial epithets at a specific class of people? Whether you answer "yes" or "no" to those questions, Richards has the free speech rights to say whatever he wants, even if it offends a class of people.

But in reaction to Richards' "statements", people that were offended by what Richards said exercised their right to disassociate themselves from his offensive speech. By doing so, they exercised something mightier than censorship, they exercised their right to spend their money elsewhere. At this very moment Richards can still say whatever offensive utterance he wants, and he can do it with full protection of the First Amendment, but most people will respond with "not on my dime." Since he can't get a gig, Richards no longer has any opportunity to offend the very audience paying his wages.

We Americans are currently embroiled in a similar situation with Jeremy Clarkson. If you believe he's funny, and aren't offended that he hates you because you're an American, then watch his television show. You may delude yourself in whatever fantasy convincing yourself he doesn't really hate you ("it's tongue-in-cheek", "he's really just jealous", "it's British humor", etc.), but know this fact: he hates Americans, and this means you.

If you think he's offensive, and it's obvious I do, then you need to do something that will allow him to continue exercising his right to spew his hatred of everything/everyone American, while also showing your strength as a consumer. Boycott his television show and tell every station that runs his show that you're doing so. Boycott the sponsors of his television shows, and tell them that you're doing so. Get others of a like mind to do the same thing (that's why I'm doing this). If enough people will "do something", he'll get the point soon enough and he'll either apologize, or he'll go on spewing his hate...but not on my dime.

He knows a lot about cars he is being in the business for decades, driven the best cars ever, and to be honest american sportscars are not good they are just big engines and the rest is not well built, they are not clever like the european sports cars (audi, bmw, merc, aston, ferrai, lambos...)
Not only Clarkson have that opinion, also the top car journalist of the automotive world. I prefer a million times a european sportcar or a japanese rather a than amercican muscle car that if i drive it around a complicated corner i have to be prepared to die or leave a post it in my fridge that says "family if iam not back by the the end od the day look for me in the hospitals o in the morgue".
Also those cars hace no goosçd taste at all....that´s my modest opinion, i am not british or north american, i have an imparciall opinion..

American cars and trucks suck because American lawyers and insurance companies say they must. I believe that GM,Ford,and Chrysler would be very capable of producing a "Jeremy" approved vehicle if their hands were untied .
